"I don't ask for the meaning of the song of a bird or the rising of the sun on a misty morning. There they are, and they are beautiful."
Pete Hamill (born William Peter Hamill; June 24, 1935 – August 5, 2020) was an American journalist, novelist, essayist and editor.

Deleteso very true, yesterday due to a shower of rain, we walked not at daybreak but just as the sun topped the trees, it bathed everything in sunbeams and the beauty was enhanced by the birds, they were singing and twittering and calling and we walked up a covy of quail. the sound of the covy lifting into the sky was so beautiful
ReplyDeleteThat’s a lovely scene you shared Sandra, thank you :)

ReplyDeleteWonderful, so glad. I am glad you enjoyed :) Thank you Angie!
DeleteThis brought to mind a sight I saw yesterday. A pheasant standing in the middle of a gravel road, facing the morning sun on a frosty morning. He was just soaking up the first rays of the morning.
ReplyDeleteNow that’s a sight I would like to have seen :) Thanks for sharing that.
DeleteYes, they are. And so is this quote. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAgreed :) Thank you Jeanie!
DeleteOh, that quote is beautiful.....and so true. Denise, I wanted to come over and tell you the bird on my post is the Acorn Woodpecker. His red patch is vibrant in color, and he is all around up in the mountains. I used to see him a lot where I lived at my old houses in northern California, just not so high up as I am now. He is a funny bird to watch. But he has poked more holes under the eaves in my house that I can count, very mischievous haha. Have a good rest of the week, dear friend.
