Just in case the words embedded in my photograph are a difficult read (there are days for me too), I am repeating the words here.
"Go out, go out I beg of you, and taste the beauty of the wild. Behold the miracle of the earth with all the wonder of a child."
Canadian Poet 1891-1978
We don’t necessarily have to go far to enjoy the wild. It could be in our own garden. What miracle of the earth did you see recently? Spring has many of them.
Photo from trip to Alaska in May 2018
Spring is a wondrous season!
ReplyDeleteIt certainly is, though not being too far away I am sure you are feeling the chilly weather is back again. Those plants are so confused ;)
DeleteNature provides me with solace and heart balm. Every day.
ReplyDeleteThat's wonderful Sue, I feel the same way :)
DeleteAlaska. That is one state I've not seen. What could be more wild frontier?
ReplyDeleteAnd being out and about with nature is definitely my forté.
It's an amazing part of the US Anni, wild and absolutely gorgeous! You and me both :)
DeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed go outside for our walks. Love the quote and photo.
Take care, enjoy your day and the week ahead.
That's great Eileen, glad you enjoyed and I wish you the same :)
Deletethere is always a miracle to be found, even on our walks down the street or in our own yard. the bunny that startled us as we walked, the sun coming up and painting the trees, the only thing messing with natures miracles are the humans on the roads we walk. one thing is our powder puff bush, bob chopped it from 20 plus feet tall to 4 feet tall and now in just 10 days it has grown about a foot. amazing to watch
ReplyDeleteI agree Sandra, I loved how you described your walk, everything you mentioned is wonderful and yes, a miracle :)
DeleteOh my goodness Linda, and would you believe it snowed here for about 5 minutes a couple of days ago??? I hope your snow goes away quickly :)
ReplyDeleteA good quote.
ReplyDeleteWe are presently experiencing what's probably the last of the winter cold.
Thanks William :) I hope so, we are experiencing chilly weather too but perhaps not as bad as further up north.
DeleteJust awakening each day is a miracle, Denise, and I don't mean that in an unkind way. We have not been taking many outdoor walks because it's been cold and windy and not spring-like at all. We also had light snow on Monday and the temp right now is only 28 degrees, brrrr.
ReplyDeleteKnow what you mean Dorothy, we are in that stage of our lives :) Hope your snow and chilly weather is disappearing fast.
DeleteThe older I get, the more I appreciate the beauty that is out in the world. Guess I have more time to enjoy now since life has slowed down for me.
ReplyDeleteHi Latane, we feel the same way :)
DeleteI've been watching birds 'courting.' Love to do that, in the spring.
ReplyDeleteAnd actually, can do it, from my window. Best, as thus, I don't bother them.
:-)
💚 💗 💚
Hi BB, birds are always fascinating to observe, though I often think what do they think of us when they see us staring at them through the window? Most of them when they see us take off, but it's not long before their return. Makes me wish I could speak bird :)
DeleteBeautiful, I am enjoying watching BBC Earth on free preview with Sir David Attenborough.
ReplyDeleteThank you Christine, and also for the reminder about BBC Earth. One of my favorites and I would like to see it again :)
DeleteNice poem. My Grandfather was born in 1895 and died in 1976.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mark :) and how very interesting. We are getting lots of information about dates regarding grandparents from hubby's genealogy searches.
DeleteLately, pretty much all I see is snow and mud. I'm sure I'll be seeing plenty of springtime miracles real soon though
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that Ann, you've had a lot of that stuff haven't you? :( Hope you see the weather getting warmer soon :)
DeleteI did go out Sunday afternoon enjoying our blue skies that seem to reach to the heavens. It was about 83 degrees with low numidity -that is heaven to me here in Florida. Loved the poem!
ReplyDeleteThank you Carol, glad you enjoyed :) I love looking up at those blue skies. 83 and low humidity? Wonderful!
DeleteYou both have a wonderful attitude! Thank you for this important reminder, D & G
ReplyDeleteThank you Cloudia, always trying, though my dear other half is much better at that :)))
DeleteFor sure! I see the newly bloomed Forsythias, and the robins pulling up worms, and the new Grape Hyacinths.
ReplyDeleteHi Ginny, yes, all little miracles and maybe not so little :) Thank you!
DeleteWe've had wonderful going out weather here and we've done a lot of clean up and setting up for the rest of Spring. The skies have been wonderful. It's been great soaking up the sunshine!
ReplyDeleteThat's great Ellen and nothing like a good bit of sunshine is there? :)
DeleteIt is an excellent idea! I just got back in the house!
ReplyDeleteGreat, thank you Jenn :)
DeleteI'm seeing my bulbs pop up little sprouts. For Michigan, that's early!
ReplyDeleteNothing like it is there, a good sign the warmer weather is on the way? :)
DeleteWonderful quote, Denise! The wonder of nature is all around us. I'm really enjoying seeing all the lovely redbuds in bloom along with everything else. Sure do hope the recent freeze doesn't spoil more blooms to come.
ReplyDeleteThank you Martha Ellen :) I haven't noticed any redbuds yet, probably the next time I go out. I hope so too about the freeze.
DeleteLovely quote and good to go out and explore what's out there.
ReplyDeleteThank you Margaret, it certainly is :)
