FENCES AROUND THE WORLD

This was the painting from last week's post.  I thought you might enjoy seeing it.  I came across it at The National Gallery of Art in Washington DC in December of 2014.

          Wivenhoe Park, Essex
            Oil on canvas, 1816
           John Constable
          British, 1776-1837

  1. Thank you.
John Constable is one of my favourite artists. I saw an exhibition of his work some years ago and was blown away. As well as his famed rural scenery he captures clouds superbly.

  12. What do I win for identifying it as John Constable? LOL! When I was growing up in Alexandria, I loved visiting the National Gallery. I sometimes bought prints and this is one of the ones I got! I kept them in a large brown envelope and looked at them now and then.
