It is always interesting to see how different business areas decorate their sidewalks. Here there were reindeer topiaries. I enjoyed them and they were at least three or four feet above me.
Even if you don't buy anything in the shops, there are many interesting ones in the Mosaic District. It would be a whole lot of fun looking around them, especially at this time of the year. I was drawn into one and bought some Christmas stockings to replace those that have worn out. I am not handy with a needle, sewing or knitting, only wish.
I purchased an ornament, a crochet wreath about two inches in diameter and it is already hanging on the tree at home.
I also bought cards to send out, because I really need to get started on those. I am late this year and they have already started arriving from family and friends.
I will be spending part of my day catching up on writing Christmas Cards, before they turn into New Year's Cards.
There were many cute dogs being taken on walks.
This is another very dog-friendly area.
Many of the windows are decorated very prettily...
and I enjoyed reading quotes on other windows.
I am very partial to a good quote. They give me pause.
A nice looking movie theater...
interesting buildings...
great shops and restaurants and a farmer's market. Not sure how much longer it will be here before quitting for the winter months...
but I think we will be going back sometime.
Have a great weekend everyone. I will be posting again on Monday.
Love the reindeer. Your crochet wreath is a stunner too.
ReplyDeleteI need to write/send some cards as well. Soon.
Thanks EC, me too, I still have a few to go.
DeleteThese are wonderful quotes!!! I especially love the poses of the reindeer, very clever and whimsical! I really like your tiny wreath. I think the black dog is not being walked as much as he is walking his human! Gorgeous cherry blossoms. I would just love to go here!!! Well, at least your tour is the next best thing.
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed them Ginny. I agree about the black dog walking its owner :)
DeleteThese are delightful--- but the thing I will really take away is the statement about losing one's fear of being wrong. I hope your weekend is fine as well.
ReplyDeleteThanks Bill, it's a great quote isn't it?
DeleteI too love the reindeer and wreath.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if stores here are doing anything nice in the way of Christmas decorations. The neighbouring houses certainly don't bother. I guess we're all too old to be messing about with tinsel and stuff. Years back I always decorated the outside of the house until some yobs tore the lot down and scribbled on my porch window.
Happy you liked them Valerie. I have noticed our neighborhood going through phases. We seem to have more decorations up this year, so I'm thinking younger folks have been moving in. This is a very transient area, people come and people go every few years or so and move on to different areas. I think it's because we get a lot of federal workers living here..
DeleteAs renas estão espectaculares.
ReplyDeleteUm abraço e bom fim-de-semana.

ReplyDeleteYou are very welcome Christine, I'm happy you enjoyed. They have a lot of good quotes on Pinterest don't they?
DeleteThe topiaries are quite whimsical!
ReplyDeleteI thought so too, thanks William :)
DeleteWhat a lovely area, Denise. The animal topiaries are darling! Your new ornament is lovely on your tree. Enjoy your weekend. ♥
ReplyDeleteThanks Martha Ellen, I'm very happy with the little wreathe. I will look for more of that style when I want to buy more ornaments. You enjoy your weekend also :).
DeleteDenise, those reindeer topiaries are quite the sight for the holidays. yes, I also enjoy qu0tes, good ones and not-so-good ones :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Dorothy, me too :)
DeleteWhat a lovely place to be able to ramble around! Delightful, decorated for the Holiday Season.
ReplyDeleteI too, love quotes!
Cards. I am an odd one, who never enjoyed doing them. Years ago, I ceased. That step, took much tension, out of my Holiday preparations. To each, his/her own. :-)
But some people really, really enjoy the whole process of Cards. And that is lovely too.
Hi there, thank you, I do enjoy all the decorations. I have several family and friends who don't do the card thing. I might be catching up to them one day, but I am at the point where I still like to send them out, so not quite there yet :) As you say, each to their own and I have no problem either way.
DeleteYou can probably tell by now, that I failed to put your blog, on the private blog I use, to follow blogs. :-((((((((((( I am so ashamed. I am. "Duhhhh me!" "Duhhhhhhhhh....."
ReplyDeleteWell, I rectified my mistake. And from now on, I will be reading and commenting daily.
Again, I am so embarrassed....
Sigh...Sigh...Sigh...
No apologies necessary. there are so many of us out here it is hard to keep up. I certainly don't expect any of my blogging friends to pop in every day, and am happy when they can whether it be two days away, two weeks or even two years. So I promise you, never any pressure this end :))
Deleteoh, I love those reindeer...always enjoy the quotes you share.
ReplyDeleteHi Rose, so glad :)
