THERE WAS THIS LOVELY DOG.....

From the archives

I was just browsing through my old blog and found this lovely dog.  We found him with a club of some sort, people who had other dogs just like him.  We were in Niagara Falls a few years ago, taking a break at an outside eating area, when they all turned up.  I had a lovely time observing these beauties.  They were all very well behaved, gentle as were their owners who obviously loved them very much.  It looked like they were on an outing, all young dogs still being trained perhaps.  Their humans were taking photos of them too.

There is a website with the loveliest photos of three very cute dogs, done by a professional photographer.  Worth a visit I can assure you.  You can see those here

  6. Lovely! I love dogs, I love critters! We are a family of doggies. I have my one, my brother has one, mom has three and my older brother has 4...then when you start counting the nieces and nephews, throw in some cats and horses we have enough critters!

    1. How wonderful Pam. You certainly are a family of animal lovers, that's great. We don't have a dog any more and I sure do miss having my precious pooch around, even though it's been years since she crossed over. One day hopefully, when we aren't traveling quite as much.

  7. I love all these sweet dogs! How cute are those 'hugging' dogs? I've had border collies and they are wonderful dogs. So nice to see all the Rotts with their devoted owners, too. xx Karen

  10. Love the hugging dogs and those Rotties are all beautiful shots. I would have loved to watch them train. some of them I had a thought that if they got off their leashes running free, how could they tell which one belonged to them... my son and his wife had 2 of these dogs for many years

    1. That's a good point Sandra, but I bet they could. We had a fun time being in their company for a while. They certainly are beautiful animals and how nice that your son and daughter-in-law had two.

  16. It's amazing to contemplate the long association between dogs and humans. It really is quite unique. An old friend of mine who passed away several years ago loved his dog (and the feeling was reciprocated) always used to say, "The more I deal with humans, the more I love my dog!"

    1. I had to smile at your old friend's saying David. It is a quote I heard from my own father many times. Always in jest and yet in his line of work I am sure there was validity to this statement. We all revered dogs in our family but then we were all animal lovers in general. Dogs held a special place however.
