AN OLD FAVORITE - WAS IT SOMETHING I SAID?

They were obviously used to people, and certainly were not bothered by me. Sitting on a nearby bench I had the place to myself, and their delightful company.

Our dear birds are two domestic rock pigeons. The white pigeon is grooming the other. It is actually a sign of affection, trust and social bonding between pairs.

Thanks for looking and I hope your week has started well.

AN OLD FAVORITE - PEACOCK PROFILE

We were on vacation 11 years ago, near my hometown at the Paignton Zoo in South Devonshire (UK). This handsome fellow was walking around freely. He wasn't too far away and was obviously used to being around people.

If you would like to see other photos I took of their peacocks, you can go to this link.

I will leave you with this.

"How come it can't fly no better than a chicken?" Milkman asked.

"Too much tail. All that jewelry weighs it down. Like vanity. Can't nobody fly with all that stuff. Wanna fly, you got to give up the stuff that weighs you down."

The peacock jumped onto the hood of the Buick and once more spread its tail, sending the flashy Buick into oblivion."

HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE - AN OLD FAVORITE...

not shared in quite a while.

Baby is watching!
He is telling his Mama she is embarrassing but I rather like his mother's care-free spirit.

Dance on Mother, dance on! This will become a fun memory to share with each other down the road.

Thanks for stopping by and
I hope you are having a very special Sunday!

Still feeling a little under the weather. I am hoping to get back to you all in a couple of days or so. Fortunately I had a few posts already to go.

AN OLD FAVORITE - A DOG ON POINT WITH A SPARROW?

A favorite from my archives. The weathervane caught my attention when we were on one of our weekend drives. We had stopped to look at an old building and this was on the roof. The sparrow refused to pose long enough for a photo. He was already heading south! You will see him if you look along the downward line of the roof.

"If twice rotates the weathervane,
it’s indicating wind and rain."
~Author Unknown~

what weathervane shall direct your course?”

Thanks so much for visiting, I hope your weekend is a great one, and that your weathervane is caught by a faint breeze to cool your day.

OLD FAVORITE

“It was the bumblebee and butterfly
who survived, not the dinosaur.”

Meridel Le Sueur (February 22, 1900 – November 14, 1996) was an American writer associated with the proletarian literature movement of the 1930s and 1940s. Born as Meridel Wharton, she assumed the name of her mother's second husband, Arthur Le Sueur, the former Socialist mayor of Minot, North Dakota.

JOYFUL

One of the most beautiful things in the world is to see a happy child, my humble opinion.

"While we try to teach our children about life,
Our children teach us what life is all about."

~Angela Schwindt ~

I saw this beautiful child in Virginia Beach many years ago, running to catch up with her parents who were waiting for her.  She was full of joy as she ran across the sand.  Normally I don’t share a child’s features on here, but this was taken over 14 years ago, so she would be a young adult and not recognizable now.  I was actually taking a photo of the ocean waves with my zoom lens when she ran across my view finder.  One of those lovely moments captured in time.

SATURDAY MORNING NOT AT THE BIRD FEEDER - MOTHER'S DAY WEEKEND!

Tomorrow we celebrate Mother's Day here in the States. I am dedicating this to my dear Mum, and to all mothers out there.  My dedication is also for those dear mothers across the species, as you will see below.

And so, for tomorrow, and...

These pictures are from a while ago, taken at Big Meadows along Skyline Drive.

Have a wonderful day everyone and as always, thanks for stopping by.
