SATURDAY NOT AT THE BIRD FEEDER, NOT A BIRD IN SIGHT...

but a pretty dog who was very curious at the person taking its photo. Not me for a change. No conversation today though. Pretty dog just stared quietly and quizzically at the man with the black box.

This is Gregg’s photo taken at our local supermarket parking lot.

Have a great weekend everyone,
and thanks for dropping by.

HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE! SANTA IS A LITTLE EARLIER THAN EXPECTED.

And so it begins, he made it into our neighborhood!

This is Gregg's photo, a surprise while driving through our neighborhood on the way to his favorite bagel shop. Is Santa getting a head start delivering presents to all the good little girls and boys? Maybe doing a test run to get his directions down? Or has he heard the eggnog is on sale at our local supermarket? (Someone else was heading that way as soon as he finished his bagel stop.) Any-which-way, it was a fun photo op and I'm happy I had this for my blog post, with thanks to my dear other half.

Enjoy your day and thanks for the visit.

MONARCH BUTTERFLY

“Butterflies live most of their lives being completely ordinary. And then, one day, the unexpected happens. They burst from their cocoons in a blaze of colors and become utterly extraordinary. It is the shortest phase of their lives, but it holds the greatest importance. It shows us how empowering change can be.”

"Kelsey Reber lives with her family in Pennsylvania, where her favorite room remains her bedroom-turned-library.  Having loved reading and creating the written word since she was a small girl, she is a self-professed bibliophile, with a passion for the fantastical and historical.  She has written two books that I am aware of, "If I Resist" and "If I Fall"." I haven't read either at this point in time.

The butterfly photo was taken by Gregg on our last trip to Green Spring Gardens on Sunday, October 1st, 2023.  More on the garden in a future post.

THE CONTEMPLATIVE SQUIRREL

Just to let you know I am not the only one who likes to take photos of squirrels.  As he went outside to turn on the sprinklers, Gregg saw this fellow on our wall.

NOVEMBER QUIZ - QUESTIONS

I will add this each month. There is no pressure and this is only for fun.  I don't always know the answers.  Some I may have known but long forgotten, and I enjoy the refresher, or learning something new.

Question 1: The unicorn is the national animal of which country?

Question 2:  Who was the first woman to win a Nobel Prize?

Question 3: What is the only fruit that has its seeds on the outside.

Question 4: Cirque du Soleil started in what country?

Question 5:  Where is the largest volcano of the world?

I will be posting the answers tomorrow.
