It had rained hard the night before and flattened the flowers around it, but they only seemed to add to this pretty photo. It was found in a little corner of Dartmoor National Park, in Southwest Devonshire, England, tucked into the side of a country lane lined with small cottages. I had a feeling this was everyone’s little patch to enjoy. The photo was taken in 2015.
I used to live the same distance from the Moors as I do now from the Shenandoah Mountains. We could see the Moors in the distance from our kitchen window, and went there often from when I was eight years old, when we first started going down to Devon on our holidays. We moved there permanently when my father retired. I was 15 years old. I had a great love for the Moors, still do and now I also love the Shenandoah Mountains.
Take good care of yourselves everyone.
Thanks for visiting

This really does look like an enchanted garden! Did you take any photos of the moors? What was there to do there? It's something I have always been fascinated by.
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely photo!
ReplyDeleteIt looks so charming! Thanks, Denise.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely spot—surely a place where fairies and goblins meet. It’s wonderful to be able to see such moors, and the mountains, both as they were in the past and as they are today.
ReplyDeleteHave a beautiful day, hugs, Elke
Good memories there Denise.
ReplyDeleteMy mum often spoke about the Yorkshire Moors and how she loved them.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a magical little place and I can definitely see some fairies living there.
ReplyDeleteThere is much to love about both locations.
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteLooks like a perfect spot for the fairies to dance, love the photo and the memory.
Take care, enjoy your day!
You’ve lived in good places or close to good places.
ReplyDeleteYou certainly grew up in a very beautiful and romantic looking area. But then the mountains and valleys of Virginia are fantastic. For 13 years we always took our vacation at Mount Rogers National Recreation Area in the spring to bird watch.
ReplyDeleteI've seen many documentaries on Devon and Cotswolds...I love the lush green
ReplyDeleteground coveage.
