Ah well now, Florence Nightingale (1820-1910) was the famous "Lady with the Lamp". She earned this nickname for her habit of making solitary rounds through the hospital wards at night, carrying a lantern to check on her patients. I am also dedicating this to all the nurses who take care of their patients' needs with endless kindness and patience. That is very important to those who are feeling very much under the weather. Thank you!
“Kind words do not cost much.
Yet they accomplish much.”
And that's how it goes on a Saturday Morning at the Birdfeeder.
Thank you for visiting this week's flight of fancy.
I wish you all a very happy weekend.

Awww, Florence even cares for the birds. And I bet she would, too! I did not know about her lantern. So beside a cool Saturday At The Birdfeeder. I learned something cool!
ReplyDeleteYes, she does care for the birds also, I'm sure of it Ginny :) I have known about Florence since I was very young but only because she was very well-known in the UK where I grew up.

So, all the knitters gotta make a supply of scarves for those little birdies. The robins, crows and starlings in my yard seem huge this year. Thanks for thinking of nurses. I retired, but seem to be busier with friends and family members needing "little birdie" care. Linda in Kansas
ReplyDeleteI believe so, she's still knitting those stitches together as fast as she can go. We haven't had too many starlings around here or robins lately, but the crows are regular visitors. I will thank you personally then Linda, for all that you have done and still do for your family and friends. Sending a big hug for your dedication :)
DeleteWhat a sweet post. Love it.
ReplyDeleteThank you Sandy, so glad and you are very kind :)
