I find myself looking forward to a spring walk at Meadowlark Gardens. I was leafing through my flower photos this past week and found these.
The flower bed around the fountain outside the visitor center, changes each season. This was one of my favorite displays, surrounded by the most beautiful tulips. A marker said their names were Angelique, Blue Spectacle and Yellow Mountain.

They are gorgeous! Funny, the Bird Cherry was one I was looking at much closer. And then you posted a nice large photo of it! And I finally get to see what
ReplyDeleteSoloman's Seal looks like!! The fountain with the flowers around it is gorgeous!!!
I am glad I posted the larger version Ginny :) Solomon’s seal is a favorite of mine. Thank you Ginny, happy you enjoyed.
DeleteI'm also looking forward to spring, and this garden is beautiful—oh, what gorgeous flowers they all are! I really enjoyed your wonderful flower photos! Thank you!

Hello dear Elke :) it will be very welcomed, I agree :) Thank you! Hugs, Denise
DeleteBeautiful flowers, Denise. My Columbine's didn't flower this year, too much growth in the leaves I expect.
ReplyDeleteThank you Margaret and sorry your columbine’s didn’t grow this year. They are such a beautiful flower.
Deleteit has been many many years since I last saw redbuds and dogwoods and I do love both. these are awesome photos of the flowers. thanks for the memories
ReplyDeleteYou are very welcome Sandra :) and thank you! It’s lovely that these made you think of those that you remember from years ago.
DeleteSo pretty. I can see why you like to go there.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ann, I am way overdue :)
DeleteWe’re now into the second half of January so spring is a little closer, and I already notice the days getting a little longer. Perhaps the snowdrops will emerge early this year.
ReplyDeleteI hope so David :) The snowdrops are always a welcome sight.
DeleteWhat a place! When will the first spring visit occur?
ReplyDeleteProbably in March, the sooner the better :)
DeleteDear Denise
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing all these beautiful blooms. The flowers around the fountain are gorgeous. and so is the first photo of the Measowlark Gardens. Solomons Seal grows in my garden near the pond, and I have had great difficulty in taking a good photo because the flowers grow so low to the ground and the leaves tend to get in the way, but thank you so much for the ID which I didn't know.
All the best
Sonjia.
Hello dear Sonjia :) How are you feeling today? Much better I hope! You are very welcome, always happy to bring a smile. How lovely you grow Solomon’s Seal. I have the same difficulty taking photos these days. I try to ID each flower when I am not too rushed with other things. I am glad they help. All the best to you too and thank you, Denise
DeleteMemories of spring flowers are about all we've got right now. Thanks for sharing these!
ReplyDeleteMany of us feel the same way :) You are very welcome Jeanie, and thank you.

ReplyDeleteDogwoods always seem to be loved :) Thank you Ellen, you have a lovely weekend too.
DeleteGorgeous. The dogwoods grow wild here. I have A LOT of them. Migrating birds assault them every autumn.
ReplyDeleteHere too, usually after the blossoms fall. I love to see them and apparently so do the birds :) Thank you Sandra :)
DeleteDenise my friend in snowy Pennsylvania is counting down days til spring we have 62
ReplyDeleteLove your flashback.

DeleteHi Denise… I loved your Spring memories and hope the season is a both a good one and an early one this year for you … your flower photos remind me how we used to look through seed and garden catalogs during the rainy winter months back in the years when we gardened. …I have a new blog home finally after a technical disaster and look forward to catching up now that I’m back.
ReplyDeleteHi Sallie, I can’t tell you enough how delighted I am to see you :) those are great memories. I will be getting down to the garden center and doing that myself. I look forward to visiting your new blog asap :)
