“Come forth into the light of things. Let nature be your teacher.”
I found the hummingbird while on a trip to San Diego in 2011, drinking nectar from a Canna Lily. I was admiring all the flowers at the time.

Thank you so for taking the time to leave a comment. I enjoy reading them very much and always try to return a visit. As I do monitor comments it may take a while for them to appear, even quite late depending on what is going on and how much time I am able to spend on the computer.
I appreciate all who look at my blog, but I will not be publishing any businesses. If you are only able to publish anonymously, would you sign your name, and leave an addy so I can return your visit where possible? Thank you!

DeleteBeautiful photo and great quote to go with it.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Ann :)
DeleteNature has been my teacher all my life and will continue to be so until I draw my last breath.
ReplyDeleteThat's a good life you've had and are having there David :) May nature always give you such happiness.
DeleteI don’t see them any more where I hang out, but they are magical little beings.
ReplyDeleteMagical is a great word to describe them, I very rarely get to see any. I had one hovering over a trumpet flower in one of my planters last year, but he was gone in seconds.
DeleteWhat amazing little birds they are. The quotation fits the photograph perfectly.
ReplyDeleteThey certainly are and am glad you liked that quote :) Thanks Janice!
DeleteA wonderful experience and a lovely saying!

DeleteHappy New Year, Denise. 2026 will likely be the year we will be making the trek to the DC metro area as daughter and family will be moving back there for her job. Maybe we can connect in person at some point.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you too Marcia and how wonderful that will be if we could meet up one of these days. I wish your daughter and her family every success with their move here.
DeleteWoW!!! what a gorgeous picture. much patience is needed to capture an image like this!! the yellow flower is so pretty and i love the blurred background!!
ReplyDeleteHi Debbie and thank you :) I lucked out on this one, I was walking down a path and saw the fluttering over the flower. Got my camera out and quickly took a photo and this is what came of it. Seconds later my hummer had flown away.
DeleteI do so look forward to 2026 hummingbird season!!!
ReplyDeleteHugs and Happy New Year

ReplyDeleteThank you Ellen, you too :)
DeleteAgreed. Beautiful quote and photo! The photo is amazing, and I had thought you snapped it from a calendar or magazine. I don't know how you managed it so clear and sharp when they have such speedy movement!
ReplyDeleteThat's the nicest compliment Ginny, thank you so much! I was lucky to find him just hovering and I snapped that photo as quick as a flash :) I had steadier hands back in those days.
DeleteHappy New Year Denise and Gregg, to both of you and your family!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you and Bob too Linda, and also your family :) May 2026 be full of joy.
DeleteLove the image and the quote Denise.
ReplyDeleteI wish you and yours all the best in 2026, a happy and healthy New Year!
Thank you so much Eileen, and I wish you the same for 2026 :)

ReplyDeleteThank you Christine, much appreciated :)
DeleteLove the photo and the quote. Hummingbirds are so interesting. When I'm sitting outside and one flies in it scares me to death thinking it's a huge bee, lol.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean Leslie :) Do you get those hummingbird moths where you live? I always used to think those were hummers until I got to know them more.
DeleteBella imagen. Pasaba a desearte un feliz año para ti y tu familia. Te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteMuchas gracias. Me alegra que te guste mi foto :) También quiero desearte a ti y a tu familia un muy feliz año nuevo. Te mando un beso.
