AN OLD TRIP TO PARIS IN 2014

I have been going through my old blog and found photos from a family group trip we took to France in the summer of 2014. We stayed in Paris for a few nights and then moved onto Normandy.

This is a place I was drawn to, just down the road from our hotel. We passed by every day while we were in Paris. It is the Fontaine Saint-Michel at the Place Saint-Michel (1858 to1860). It depicts the Archangel Saint Michael slaying the dragon. You can click on all the links for more information.
I took a quick shot of the Gendarmes making their rounds.
 The two of us.
There are pedicab cycles for a tour around Paris, or you can rent your own electric bicycle.
One of the many restaurants we passed by where we had a meal. I can't remember much of it except that it was a crepe and I am sure it must have been delicious.
It is a city I have always wanted to go back to but haven't made it yet. Life has slowed down for us quite a bit these days, but it's fun to look back at these photos.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a great day.

  1. Beautiful photos, Denise. We have a Notre Dame Cathedral here in Old Montreal. This is where Celine Dion got married. It is also the place where her husband's funeral took place.I enjoyed this post and your memories very much, dear friend 🧡

  8. Life slows down for all of us, Denise, so these photographic memories take on extra significance. My closest association with Paris in recent years has been to make connecting flights at Charles de Gaulle International Airport. That hardly qualifies as a visit!

  11. Lovely to revisit through your photographs. Like most cities these days, it's probably overwhelmed with tourists. (I'm such a Job's comforter.)

    1. Well, you made me smile Sandra. Going to Paris from where I lived way back, it was approximately 494 miles. We would have had to cross the British Channel but even though we were a lot closer, I never went there back in those days. If we drove the same distance from where I live, it would take us down to Atlanta, Georgia. This was a family trip with about a dozen of us that I was happy to be part of :)

  20. Having the photos can bring so much of the trip back to you. Don't you just love the digital cameras these days!? Especially that you can have one right in your phone...and have a phone you can carry in your pocket! What an amazing world we live in, eh?

    1. Hi Rita, and it did and yes I do! I am happy that technology got us to this point. Sending film away for a week or two, I remember waiting for my holiday photos to come back and it was always very exciting when that package dropped through the mailbox. Now it's all instantaneous, amazing! I still haven't gotten over the novelty of that and this is only the tip of the iceberg. It is an amazing world we live in, you're right.

  25. Denise you take very good photos. I enjoyed this.
I was in Paris in 1968 with a group of 50 girls....It was during the student riots cars being turned over crazy time...
We were supposed to stay in Paris 4 days. Chaperones got us in at dark. Got us up before sunrise we had breakfasts at Whimpy's then up to the top the Eiffel Tower at sunrise that was spectacular. We spent more time in Italy and England

    Hugs Cecilia

I appreciate all who look at my blog, but I will not be publishing any businesses. If you are only able to publish anonymously, would you sign your name, and leave an addy so I can return your visit where possible? Thank you!
