I have been going through my old blog and found photos from a family group trip we took to France in the summer of 2014. We stayed in Paris for a few nights and then moved onto Normandy. 
This is a place I was drawn to, just down the road from our hotel. We passed by every day while we were in Paris. It is the Fontaine Saint-Michel at the Place Saint-Michel (1858 to1860). It depicts the Archangel Saint Michael slaying the dragon. You can click on all the links for more information.

There are pedicab cycles for a tour around Paris, or you can rent your own electric bicycle.
One of the many restaurants we passed by where we had a meal. I can't remember much of it except that it was a crepe and I am sure it must have been delicious.

DeleteLife slows down for all of us, Denise, so these photographic memories take on extra significance. My closest association with Paris in recent years has been to make connecting flights at Charles de Gaulle International Airport. That hardly qualifies as a visit!

ReplyDeleteWell, you made me smile Sandra. Going to Paris from where I lived way back, it was approximately 494 miles. We would have had to cross the British Channel but even though we were a lot closer, I never went there back in those days. If we drove the same distance from where I live, it would take us down to Atlanta, Georgia. This was a family trip with about a dozen of us that I was happy to be part of :)

ReplyDeleteHi Rita, and it did and yes I do! I am happy that technology got us to this point. Sending film away for a week or two, I remember waiting for my holiday photos to come back and it was always very exciting when that package dropped through the mailbox. Now it's all instantaneous, amazing! I still haven't gotten over the novelty of that and this is only the tip of the iceberg. It is an amazing world we live in, you're right.

ReplyDeleteI was in Paris in 1968 with a group of 50 girls....It was during the student riots cars being turned over crazy time...
We were supposed to stay in Paris 4 days. Chaperones got us in at dark. Got us up before sunrise we had breakfasts at Whimpy's then up to the top the Eiffel Tower at sunrise that was spectacular. We spent more time in Italy and England

DeleteWe have nit visited Paris together, but many (too many) years ago I was a solo visitor on a tour that included London and Rome but have dim memories of all 3 cities. Thanks for sharing yiur memories, Denise. It may be time for some new ones😀 with a return visit…for myself and you.
