Hello Dear Friends!
A collage of photos from our latest walk at the visitor center and the pond today. I was hoping to see hummingbird moths. I didn’t see them but there were other things that kept our interest.
It was a lovely day, in the low 80s and not too humid. I will have the larger photos and explain more when I can put a post together. Lots of lovely nature. I feel so good getting out in it. It's like a tonic and a breath of fresh air all rolled into one.
More photos either tomorrow or at least within the next few days.
I hope you all have a great day, wishing you peace and thanks for stopping by.
I am hoping it was cooler there like it has been here. A skink! And the first one looks like some kind of wasp nest? Lovely photo of the two of you!!
ReplyDeleteHi Ginny, thank you about our photo, so kind of you :) and you are right, a wasp nest was tucked into the trees only yards from the path. The skink was on the front steps of the house.
DeleteVery nice and it seems you had a good walk and hopefully your knee is doing ok.
ReplyDeleteThank you Margaret, I am trying to get more exercise and it did quite well today.
DeleteNot too humid! That is so important I think. Humidity makes such a difference when you go for a walk. It looks lovely by the way.
ReplyDeleteVery true! I cannot go outside for long in humid weather.
DeleteThanks for taking us along, I hope that the weather was nice and cool for you.
ReplyDeleteAmalia
xo
Thank you Amalia, not cool weather but manageable :) It was actually delightful. With August being our hottest month, I welcomed this opportunity for a lovely walk.
DeleteFresh air and the green of nature are the best medicines there are to lift your mood.
ReplyDeleteI couldn’t agree more Janice :)
DeleteLove the photos. Most especially the one of you and your husband with those happy smiling faces.
ReplyDeleteThank you Ann, sweet of you to say :)
DeleteA walk in nature is always a soothing balm, Denise.
ReplyDeleteVery much so David, totally agree :)
DeleteGlad to read that your knee is feeling better, Denise, and that getting out and about wasn’t too tiring. It was nice to see you and Gregg in the midst of a beautiful excursion.
ReplyDeleteThank you Dorothy :) I very much appreciate your kind words.
DeleteDear Denise :)
ReplyDeleteHow lovely that you can get out for a walk and in such a charming place I like all your photos and I'm sure I will enjoy seeing more of the visitor center. I haven't been outside in days , or had the energy to do much visiting as it is 40 degrees here, and the temperature is still rising.. It's exhausting!
All the best
Sonjia
Dear Sonjia, so glad you enjoyed and oh my goodness, I would definitely have to stay inside if it was that hot here. We look at the heat advisory before we attempt a walk and always check if the humidity is high or not. Fortunately on this day it was perfect. All the best to you too :)
DeleteA lovely day out and how nice that it did you well!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much Ellen, it was a wonderful walk :)
DeleteWasp nest, I wondered what that was. It's so nice you can get out and walk and have such a lovely place to go to.
ReplyDeleteThank you Sandra, it is the closest place for a nice walk. Yes, the wasp nest was a surprise.
DeleteLovely photos
ReplyDeleteThank you Christine :)
DeleteVery Pretty Collage Denise
ReplyDeleteHugs cecilia
Thank you Cecilia :) sending hugs!
DeleteOooooooh my goodness, that wasp nest needs to be removed! You should call whoever is in charge of the Walney Visitor Center & tell them about it, Denise. That's dangerous. Love, Andrea xoxo
ReplyDeleteHi Andrea, much appreciated! We have reported the wasp nest to a special number I found online. Many people walk along that path and it’s not even 10 feet away. We will keep checking. Hopefully it won’t be long before a professional stops by and removes it.
DeleteOh! I haven't seen a skink since I was a kid playing in the fields and sand dunes near the house! The Minnesota ones were a bit blacker stripes but I recognized it right away. Sweet! The wasp's nest--awk! I would steer clear! lol!
ReplyDeleteI never ever remember seeing skinks, lizard and the like where I grew up. That would have been really interesting to see them as a kid. Yes, we went by today and saw people in the gazebo not too far away. I'm glad we reported it.
DeleteLovely photos Denise. Nature really is the best :-D You always look so happy in your photos, I like seeing that :-D
ReplyDeleteThanks Ananka and kind of you to say. I am always happy when out in nature :)
DeleteLove the collage images, nice shot of you and your husband.
ReplyDeleteIt is always nice to get outdoors.
Take care, enjoy your day!
Thank you Eileen, much appreciated. Love getting out and about, as I know you do. You take care and enjoy your day also :)
DeleteLooks like that you had a good time!
ReplyDeleteThank you Angie, I really did :)
DeleteIt's always lovely to be out and about and enjoy nature.
ReplyDeleteLovely collage of photographs.
All the best Jan
I agree, thank you so much Jan and all the best to you too :)
DeleteBeautiful photos, Denise. So glad you got out in nature. I went out today as well, thank God 😊 🙏 it was a beautiful day. I didn't take any photos this time but I got some things done that I needed to do and I enjoyed the fresh air and comfortable weather.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing, dear friend 🧡
Thank you so much dear friend and you are very welcome :) That's great that you got out. With the weather as kind as it is right now, it is good walking weather.
DeleteThanks for the sneak peak!
ReplyDeleteYou are very welcome Carol, it will be up and running in a couple of days or so.
Deleteso nice to see you today. i have been finding it hard to get out, it's been so hot and humid, i am very sensitive to it!! i look forward to your next post!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Debbie, I am only out and about because it has been low humidity. I am very sensitive to it to and get light-headed almost immediately. I tend to stick to the air-conditioning like a limpet on a rock on such days, lol!
DeleteI’m glad we got some nice weather. Looks like a pleasant trip to Walney.
ReplyDeleteMe too :) it is very pleasant there :)
DeleteNice selfie of you and Gregg
ReplyDeleteThank you Linda, very much appreciate you saying that :)
