TODAY WE WENT TO THE ....

Bakery and Museum Co

The last time we were here was a few weeks ago with the family. We had fun chatting about them, enjoying that special time we had.

It has been lovely coming here.

We both had different sandwiches. They were a nice change of pace.

Our next stop was the garden center, which is my favorite one, even though it is not the closest. I had noticed this truck when we passed by during the last few weeks. I have also shared a yellow one before. In that post I identified the make but not sure about this one today. Any experts out there? I will continue looking for an ID in my spare moments.

The hibiscus flowers were putting on quite a show.

I have been looking for something to put on the trellis out back and was quite taken with this.

Made out of metal butterflies.

I appreciated the skill and creativity of the artist, but the price was out of reach and more than I was willing to even contemplate ($220). I think whoever purchases it will be a happy person. Whenever I see these things, on my next visit they are usually gone. My mind was more on plants and plant pots, though I didn't see any that I wanted to buy today.

I liked these two fountains and thought the one above looked lovely among all the ferns and was my favorite, picturing it in my mind's eye at home.  Again, not serious about buying fountains, so...

off we went home without buying anything. It was fun to look though.
Thanks for stopping by.
Have a great day!

  1. The first fountain among the ferns is my favorite. It looks so pretty there! I think the pink Hibiscus is my favorite. The truck is so cool looking, and very well tended. I bet it would cost a fortune!

  2. I love the way they wrap the sandwich. Love that old car. I really like the exposed brick, it gives this place a rustic, welcoming look. I love fountains and the Hibiscus 🌺 are absolutely gorgeous. Here in Montreal in our hot and humid summers the flowers that survive in the heat are the lilies and the Hibiscus. Sadly the lilacs shrivel up and die. Wonderful photos.

    1. Thanks Linda, they have a nice variety of sandwiches wrapped like that and I feel the same way about the brick :) Interesting about your hot and humid summers in Montreal and the flowers that survive and don’t.

  5. It sounds like a day full of simple pleasures and quiet delights—plants, memories, and unexpected art—even if nothing came home with you, the inspiration clearly did.

    1. Thank you, I saw those exact same butterflies on line and depending what seller popped up, they were even way, way more expensive :)

  7. Beautiful hibiscus, just begging for bees to visit. I like the second fountain very much. I would have nowhere to put it, though.

  8. Buen ambiente en el Museo Panadería. Una vez alimentada con unos buenos sándwiches, ya estabas preparada para dar la caminata por los jardines cubiertos de bellas flores. El día resultó perfecto.

  10. That sandwich looks so incredibly good. The old truck is a beauty although I have no idea what the make is.
That heart made from metal butterflies is really pretty. That is expensive though.

  18. Looks like very good food there...and is that a plant wall?
Lovely flowers. I love the smell in a garden center. The butterfly decoration is beautiful, but beyond my budget, too. Fountains are wonderful but a lot of work, I have found. And I never had a big one for outdoors--only small indoor ones a coupe of times. Love the sound of them, though. :)

    1. Hi Rita, yes it is a plant wall. A lovely focal point when walking in the door. I have never had a fountain and although I like them, never felt compelled somehow, though I can see how they would be. The butterflies were a draw for me but not the price! I have always enjoyed garden centers :)

  19. I love those metal butterflies...really nice, but I am not sure I want to pay $220 for it.
I thought a bakery museum is a museum of bakery....that looks like a regular bakery.

  23. Oh I love those fountains. I would love to have one in my (small but still pretty) flower bed. But the prices usually are not in my range. Sigh. We pass that Bakery Museum often and I keep meaning to stop in but have not yet. Your photos have, once again, encouraged me to plan a stop. Maybe today - it is rather beautiful outside today, isn't it??:)

    1. That’s great Jennifer! I would love to know what you think of the place. I know what you mean about the fountains. My priorities veer more to the practical these days. The weather seems to be a nice 72 today, with a couple of rainy days coming :)

  26. The fountain among the ferns is lovely. I think a small pond among ferns would also be very restful. You are right about the Hibiscus flowers, they are so colourful and bold.
I enjoyed catching up with your week, Denise and hope the rest of this week is good for you and the family.
