The last time we were here was a few weeks ago with the family. We had fun chatting about them, enjoying that special time we had.
It has been lovely coming here.
We both had different sandwiches. They were a nice change of pace.
Our next stop was the garden center, which is my favorite one, even though it is not the closest. I had noticed this truck when we passed by during the last few weeks. I have also shared a yellow one before. In that post I identified the make but not sure about this one today. Any experts out there? I will continue looking for an ID in my spare moments.
The hibiscus flowers were putting on quite a show.
I have been looking for something to put on the trellis out back and was quite taken with this.
Made out of metal butterflies.
I appreciated the skill and creativity of the artist, but the price was out of reach and more than I was willing to even contemplate ($220). I think whoever purchases it will be a happy person. Whenever I see these things, on my next visit they are usually gone. My mind was more on plants and plant pots, though I didn't see any that I wanted to buy today.
I liked these two fountains and thought the one above looked lovely among all the ferns and was my favorite, picturing it in my mind's eye at home. Again, not serious about buying fountains, so...
off we went home without buying anything. It was fun to look though.
Thanks for stopping by.
Have a great day!
The first fountain among the ferns is my favorite. It looks so pretty there! I think the pink Hibiscus is my favorite. The truck is so cool looking, and very well tended. I bet it would cost a fortune!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ginny, they do have a lot of pretty things and I did like that fountain a lot :)
DeleteI love the way they wrap the sandwich. Love that old car. I really like the exposed brick, it gives this place a rustic, welcoming look. I love fountains and the Hibiscus 🌺 are absolutely gorgeous. Here in Montreal in our hot and humid summers the flowers that survive in the heat are the lilies and the Hibiscus. Sadly the lilacs shrivel up and die. Wonderful photos.
ReplyDeleteThanks Linda, they have a nice variety of sandwiches wrapped like that and I feel the same way about the brick :) Interesting about your hot and humid summers in Montreal and the flowers that survive and don’t.
DeleteIt looks absolutely lovely! I wish I could go to that bakery. It seems like such a warm and welcome space.
ReplyDeleteThank you Nicole :) it is as you describe.
DeleteThat looks like a wonderful garden centre. Sadly my weak willed self would have trouble leaving empty handed.
ReplyDeleteKnow what you mean :) I was surprised at myself.
DeleteIt sounds like a day full of simple pleasures and quiet delights—plants, memories, and unexpected art—even if nothing came home with you, the inspiration clearly did.
ReplyDeleteYou described it perfectly :)
DeleteLooks like a lovely outing. Lots of great stuff but you are right about those butterflies!
ReplyDeleteThank you, I saw those exact same butterflies on line and depending what seller popped up, they were even way, way more expensive :)
DeleteBeautiful hibiscus, just begging for bees to visit. I like the second fountain very much. I would have nowhere to put it, though.
ReplyDeleteAll for making the bees happy :) the fountains were lovely but yes, where would I put it?
DeleteSometimes a good sandwich can make the whole day.
ReplyDeleteVery true David :)
DeleteThat sandwich looks so incredibly good. The old truck is a beauty although I have no idea what the make is.
ReplyDeleteThat heart made from metal butterflies is really pretty. That is expensive though.
Thanks Ann, totally agree on all counts :)
DeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteThe bakery breakfast looks yummy! I like the metal sculpture and the fountains. The hibiscus blooms are pretty. Have a great day and happy week ahead.
Thank you Eileen, it certainly was :) You have a great day and happy week also.
DeleteYou meals are looking good, interesting they are wrapped as you have shown.
ReplyDeleteThe flowers are wonderful and taken well.
The fountain is lovely as is the wall art of butterflies.
Thanks Margaret, I agree! :)
DeleteBakery and garden center, what a great combination.
ReplyDeleteWell done.
Best regards.
Greetings Viola :) and thank you very much!
DeleteEye candy, all! We have a frost warning here. It's been a time.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jenn and so sorry about that frost warning. Wishing you warm and sunny days ahead :)
DeleteHello! I would gladly visit and have a sandwich there with you, my friend. And, like you, I would be happy to look, but not buy. Things have a way of accumulating!!! Have a cozy afternoon.
ReplyDeleteOh that would be lovely Billie Jo :) you are right about accumulating. We are busy trying to downsize right now. You have a cozy afternoon too my friend.
DeleteYou had me a "bakery", the rest is just icing on the cake (see what I did there?!?).
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I saw what you did there, lol! Thanks for the smile :)
DeleteGorgeous photos and tasty food! :-D
ReplyDeleteVery much so :) thank you Ananka.
DeleteLooks like very good food there...and is that a plant wall?
ReplyDeleteLovely flowers. I love the smell in a garden center. The butterfly decoration is beautiful, but beyond my budget, too. Fountains are wonderful but a lot of work, I have found. And I never had a big one for outdoors--only small indoor ones a coupe of times. Love the sound of them, though. :)
Hi Rita, yes it is a plant wall. A lovely focal point when walking in the door. I have never had a fountain and although I like them, never felt compelled somehow, though I can see how they would be. The butterflies were a draw for me but not the price! I have always enjoyed garden centers :)
DeleteI love those metal butterflies...really nice, but I am not sure I want to pay $220 for it.
ReplyDeleteI thought a bakery museum is a museum of bakery....that looks like a regular bakery.
They are lovely aren’t they? Not sure about the origin of the name or why they put ‘museum’ in its title :)
DeleteI like going to a garden centre. We have two nearby. It looks as if you are enjoying good weather! Everything looks bright in good weather doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteThat’s so nice to have them near your home :) we had a lot of rain and windy weather last week but it is very nice right now. And you are right about everything looking brighter in good weather.
DeleteWhen you go out you make a big tour and see many different things. The truck does not look at all familiar.
ReplyDeleteThanks Red, it’s fun to go on these mini outings :)
DeleteDenise thank you for all the eye candy and for tickling my tastebuds withe scrumptious food and beverages....and last but not least the GORGEOUS RED TRUCK
ReplyDeleteHugs
Cecilia
You are very welcome Cecilia :) the red truck is what drew me in. I love the old classics but am not really a car person. Sending hugs!
DeleteOh I love those fountains. I would love to have one in my (small but still pretty) flower bed. But the prices usually are not in my range. Sigh. We pass that Bakery Museum often and I keep meaning to stop in but have not yet. Your photos have, once again, encouraged me to plan a stop. Maybe today - it is rather beautiful outside today, isn't it??:)
ReplyDeleteThat’s great Jennifer! I would love to know what you think of the place. I know what you mean about the fountains. My priorities veer more to the practical these days. The weather seems to be a nice 72 today, with a couple of rainy days coming :)
DeleteLovely photos
ReplyDeleteThank you Christine :)
DeleteHubby thinks that truck is a Dodge, maybe early 30's. A Bakery Museum is my kind of museum. :) Looks like a fun outing!
ReplyDeleteHello Helen, please thank your hubby for me :) It was a fun outing.
DeleteI am always happy that Garden Centers dont charge an entry fee. i still love to browse even though we dont even garden any more, and almost never buy. no wonder this one is your favorite!
ReplyDeleteMe too, that might put me off a bit. I can see that Sallie, it's like going to a botanical garden of sorts. Lots to see and enjoy.
DeleteThe fountain among the ferns is lovely. I think a small pond among ferns would also be very restful. You are right about the Hibiscus flowers, they are so colourful and bold.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed catching up with your week, Denise and hope the rest of this week is good for you and the family.
It sounds lovely having a pond and the fountain would be an excellent addition. Happy for you to be catching up with me Beverley. Thank you so much! I wish you the same for the rest of your week :)
DeleteI also like the fountains. Actually, I like all of it!
ReplyDeleteIt would be hard to make a choice :)
DeleteThis looks like a fabulous day. Hope life is coming back to normal a bit after the family visit. Those are always wonderful -- and tiring!
ReplyDeleteAh but if they came back tomorrow, I would be doing a happy dance all through the day :)
DeleteBeautiful flowers. Have a great evening.
ReplyDeleteThank you Regine :) you too my friend.
DeleteLovely photographs you've shared here.
ReplyDeleteThe metal butterflies do look beautiful.
All the best Jan
Hello Jan, so glad you enjoyed them, and yes those butterflies :) All the best to you too!
DeleteMe dio ganas del sanduche. Lindas flores. te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteA mí también me gustaría otro sandwich :) Gracias, te mando un beso.
DeleteI'm just home from the Garden Club Silent auction. I spent $10 on plants and came home with several perennials and 2 tomato plants. Quite a bargain.
ReplyDeleteThat’s a great bargain Marcia, and a lot of fun :)
DeleteLovely flowers! Merrifield Garden Center has been around for a long time.
ReplyDeleteThank you Linda, it certainly has :)
DeleteWhat a beautiful tour! Thanks for that. I loved the butterfly heart made out of metal. I have no place for it, but it sure is beautiful and pricey!
ReplyDeleteI am happy you enjoyed it Val, thank you :) It was a beauty I'll attest and yes, very pricey.
DeleteSame in that I appreciated the craft that went into making the butterflies however, that price is a bridge too far (for me). Cafe looks great. Those are fun spots.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ivy, a bridge too far for me too. I enjoyed the cafe very much, fun spots as you say :)
DeleteWhat a pretty display made out of metal butterflies. The flowers are growing beautifully at the garden center. Love that red hibiscus. Your sandwich looks delicious, and I haven't had Ginger Ale in a very long time. Sounds refreshing.
ReplyDelete~Sheri
Thank you Sheri :) Hubby enjoyed his ginger ale. I enjoyed my coffee. It is a place we will enjoy going to again. The hibiscus were blooming beautifully and the butterfly display certainly was fun to look at.
