This is a jigsaw I completed recently (on my iPad). It reminded me of the village where I lived when I met hubby in 1975. The fashions are earlier, the layout is a little different, there was no pond but there are still several similarities.

DeleteI love the thatched English cottage. And that nice baby buggy. What don't we ever see baby buggies anymore? Only strollers.

DeleteI sat and studied everything in the puzzle. its a beauty and I wonder if the man on the tractor rode it to church or was playing hooking and passing by when they let out. HA HA
ReplyDeleteHappy you enjoyed it Sandra. The man on the tractor, perhaps he was heading for a Sunday pint at the pub :))) There was one right by him with a pub sign over the door. He reminded me of the farmer we used to see at the pub with his two collie dogs. The dogs were always snoozing in front of the fire in the wintertime. I remember them so well as I loved seeing those collie dogs :)

DeleteInteresting picture. The dresses look like early 1950s, the baby carriage is earlier, the red car looks later. And of course the buildings are older.
ReplyDeleteHi Linda :) a little bit of everything here. The church in my village was built in circa 1400. The pub before that to provide liquid refreshments for those who built the church, as was the practice for many churches all over. A microcosm of different eras in this jigsaw puzzle.

Me too, so much fun to find the pieces and to see the puzzle take shape :) so sweet of your son to share the puzzle making, your hubby too, even though it is not their cup of tea :) A lovely tradition though. Thank you for the link. I just completed a jigsaw puzzle and it was fun. I found out how to set it up and will make more pieces next time. The photos they use are marvelous! Thanks again Debbie :)
