“Leave footprints of love and kindness wherever you go.”
~Author Unknown ~
A change of pace today. I never know what direction my posts are going to go lately so...I came across this photo online. One of the people I go to has the most incredible photos collected, and he always says feel free to share, so I am sharing it with you all. My dots connected and it seemed to fit perfectly with my quote. There has been talk of going back to the moon, and to be honest I am not sure where that info came from, so let's take that with a pinch of salt. Anyhow, it got me to thinking about that first moon landing. You can read about it here.
A small part of it reads:
"The Eagle has landed and footsteps on the moon.
On July 20, 1969, Apollo 11 astronauts Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong landed their moon module on a broad dark lunar lava flow, called The Sea of Tranquility. And six hours later, Neil Armstrong became the first human being to walk on the surface of a world beyond Earth."
Okay, back to putting together my next post.
What a surprise post! And I have never seen this shot, either!
ReplyDeleteI have seen other similar photos but not this particular one Ginny :)
DeleteThose are the very best kind of footprints to leave.
ReplyDeleteMost definitely Sue :)
DeleteWatched it on TV...a lifetime ago...

DeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteCool photo and I love the kindness quote. Take care, enjoy your day!
Happy you found it so. Thank you Eileen, I wish you the same :)
DeleteThat is one of those days when many people remember where they were. Any household with a television set was doubtless glued to it. Of course, there were many impoverished areas of the world where eking out a daily existence was more of a priority. Before going off to the moon again perhaps we should seriously tackle some of the issues here in Earth that threaten our very survival.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the food for thought David :)
DeleteCool moon pic. I think I have to agree with David's comment above.
ReplyDeleteThank you Pam :) Always a good thing getting everyone’s perspective.
DeleteNow, that's a footprint that changed the course of the world! I remember it well.
ReplyDeleteMe too :) I was 19 and watching it on TV with my parents :)
DeleteThat's such an awe-inspiring photo.
ReplyDeleteI wholeheartedly agree Latane :)
DeleteThat was quite the footprint. I hear you!
ReplyDeleteThank you Jenn :) so glad you did.
DeleteLove the photo! That was a historic time
ReplyDeleteIt certainly was, thank you Christine :)
Deletethe photo is new to me also. when Armstrong walked on the moon, I had a 2 and 4 year old boys and no TV and we were trying to buy a house, me stay home, hubby worked 2 jobs and were were below poverty line. at the time I thought nothing of anyone walking on the moon.
ReplyDeleteYou had important priorities in your own family Sandra. At such times it’s hard to think of moon exploration, and with everything going on right now and with people being in the same boat, many feel the same way, understandably so :)
DeleteThe mon landing is one of those days that I will never forget.
ReplyDeleteTotally get that Red :)
DeleteStill in awe of that moment! Thank you for sharing, my friend.
ReplyDeleteYou are very welcome Billy Jo :) yes indeed, an amazing part of history.
DeleteAn amazing photo and time in history.
ReplyDeleteI agree on both counts Ellen :)
DeleteI love the quote. I remember quote vividly staying up late to see the live televised landing and of course "One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind." (Neil Armstrong).
ReplyDeleteThank you Carol, and I remember that famous quote well :)
DeleteDear Denise :=) quite a moving experience
ReplyDeleteI love the quote and the photo which I had never seen before, but remember the moon landing well, watched it on TV with my late husband and a couple of friends. It was quite a moving experience and one I'll never forget.
Hello Sonjia :) thank you for sharing those memories of where you were. I remember being in total awe and I will never forget it either.
