AN OLD POST REVISITED, FLOWERS FOUND IN THE UNITED STATES BOTANICAL GARDEN, WASHINGTON DC.

We were at the botanical garden several years ago.  If you go here the link will take you to their home page.

In the National Garden there were large planters full of flowers.  I was very taken with the various kinds of tulips.
The Moss phlox was in part of the garden with blooms native to Virginia.
Next is the Wild Columbine.  Its blooming time is between April and July, and it belongs to the Buttercup family.

A marker identified another beautiful flower as Ericaceae - Rhododendron canaescens - mountain azazlea - Southeastern USA"

I'm finishing off with another beautiful tulip.

Not a long post but thank you for visiting, and enjoy your day.

  1. The last sunny tulip is spectacular! And the first ones are so fancy that they don't even look like tulips!

    1. Thanks Ginny, I looked those up after I posted and of if you go to this address, you will see ones like it. They are called peony tulips, and they are for sale but the photos are very nice.

  15. Your flower photos are so vivid and colorful. That tulip is so unusual looking. It looks like a candy cane tulip. Very pretty.
