ANSWERS TO YESTERDAY'S QUESTIONS

Here you go!

How many bones are there in the human body?
Answer: adult humans have 206 bones.  Surprisingly, babies have more bones than adults.  As the child matures, bones fuse together.

How many bones are there in a human foot?
Answer: each foot has nineteen bones, fourteen of those in the toes alone.  The same number of bones are in a hand.

Do any mammals fly?
Answer: yes, bats fly.  Other mammals are superlative leapers and gliders, but only bats can actually fly.

How many quills does a porcupine have?
Answer: the book's expert assures us that the porcupine has 30,000 quills.

How does a porcupine use its quills?
Answer: the good news is that porcupines do not hurl their quills, the bad news is that the needle-sharp quills stick into a victim when a porcupine brushes against him.  Ordinarily the quills lay flat.

There will be another quiz next month roundabout this time.
