MY FENCES THIS WEEK

This interesting building is in Duck, North Carolina.  It is an old life saving station.  I saw the fences, so here it is.
We are on our way home now.  I liked the sign but more importantly, it has the fence.
The last three photos were taken of a farm, all from the passenger seat as we were driving by.  I take a lot of my photos with a cell phone now.
A lot of fencing around here.

I am linking to Fences Around the World.  Thank you for hosting Gosia.

If you would like to see others from around the world, or join in with your own, you can go here.

Thank you for visiting everyone and have a great day.

  1. It sure was a beautiful day! That little building is strange, and has what looks to be a lookout on the very top. Is it near the water, would that be the purpose?

    1. We lucked out with the weather. When we left it started to rain. Just past the building is the water. I couldn't find out much about its history. Just that it had been either turned into a real estate agency, or a restaurant. Not sure which one is correct.

  10. Since I have been following some who post fences, I have been noticing fences more and more. They are all around us and we see them as we drive by every day. Fences can be decorative and a beautiful addition to a yard. Others are meant to be threatening. KEEP OUT! lol
    Always they can be interesting.

    1. I grew up with fences surrounding us. It was a privacy thing I guess and we got on well with all our neighbors, lol!

    2. My father made an attractive white picket fence to keep baby brother from straying.

In so many subdivisions today a privacy fence necessary .... but it doesn't filter the music out. :(

  13. "Duck" ... what a neat name for a town. It seems that farming and fencing go hand in glove. :)

  16. We were in this area during our trip up the East Coast in 2010...and as Oregonians got a big kick out of being in Duck, since the UO mascot is the Duck.
