COMPANIONSHIP

I took this photo outside another visitor center.  We were on a road trip several years ago, somewhere in the southwest.  It is one of my favorites. I took it as we were resting in the shade of an overhanging rock face.  We had just walked around the center and headed to a vacant bench outside, blissfully in the only shade.  I remember it being very hot.  The little dog was staring at me as if to say, “Hot isn’t it?” and I replied, “Yes it is” and got the camera out.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

  2. A wonderful picture! I notice that the man is looking at the view. But the dog is facing away from it, loving to be with his person better than the view.

  3. Hi Denise,
How are you?? I've missed you and your blog. I just saw your comment on my blog. I have been away for awhile.
That pup knew he or she was looking at a kind person.
    Hugs my friend,

  4. I can understand why the photo is one of your favourites as it not only demonstrates the companionship of the man and his sweet little dog, but is also a reminder of the place where you captured such a charming image. It pays to have your camera ready when out and about. I can imagine from a glimpse of it and the description of the location that the view was also rather special.

  9. I like how both you and the picture tell a story. The dog must be especially hot with that fur on and not a single drop of shade.

    1. It keeps my memories going Penelope. I look at a photo and I remember the scene like yesterday. I thought so too about how hot that little dog must have been, but they both seemed to seek out the sun - and the view - and not the shade that day. The view was spectacular and I enjoyed it too later. I didn't want to disturb their companionship and I also knew what a gift this photo would :)
