I took this photo outside another visitor center. We were on a road trip several years ago, somewhere in the southwest. It is one of my favorites. I took it as we were resting in the shade of an overhanging rock face. We had just walked around the center and headed to a vacant bench outside, blissfully in the only shade. I remember it being very hot. The little dog was staring at me as if to say, “Hot isn’t it?” and I replied, “Yes it is” and got the camera out.
Thanks for looking and have a great day.
They look very comfortable together and the best of friends - which is lovely.
ReplyDeleteThey do don't they? The scene speaks volumes. Thank you EC :)
DeleteA wonderful picture! I notice that the man is looking at the view. But the dog is facing away from it, loving to be with his person better than the view.
ReplyDeleteThank you Ginny, the little dog was certainly content :)
DeleteThis one spells contentment.
ReplyDeleteYes indeed, thank you Christine :)
DeleteHi Denise,
ReplyDeleteHow are you?? I've missed you and your blog. I just saw your comment on my blog. I have been away for awhile.
That pup knew he or she was looking at a kind person.
Hugs my friend,
Marie
Hi Marie, so good to see you. Missed you too! Thank you for your sweet comment and hugs back to you my friend :)
DeleteI can understand why the photo is one of your favourites as it not only demonstrates the companionship of the man and his sweet little dog, but is also a reminder of the place where you captured such a charming image. It pays to have your camera ready when out and about. I can imagine from a glimpse of it and the description of the location that the view was also rather special.
ReplyDeleteCouldn't have put it better myself Linda :) Thank you so much!
DeleteOh what a lovely picture and how comfortable the dog looks as you took it. Love it, Denise.
ReplyDeleteThank you Valerie, glad you enjoyed this scene.
DeleteAmigos inseparáveis.

DeletePiękna fotografia, kocham takie pełne zadumy kadry.
ReplyDeleteDziękuję za komentarz Lucyna. Życzę kontynuacji dobrego tygodnia :)
DeleteHello, love the photo and scene. The little dog is cute. Enjoy your day, wishing you a good week ahead.
ReplyDeleteHi Eileen, thank you and you too :)
DeleteI like how both you and the picture tell a story. The dog must be especially hot with that fur on and not a single drop of shade.
ReplyDeleteIt keeps my memories going Penelope. I look at a photo and I remember the scene like yesterday. I thought so too about how hot that little dog must have been, but they both seemed to seek out the sun - and the view - and not the shade that day. The view was spectacular and I enjoyed it too later. I didn't want to disturb their companionship and I also knew what a gift this photo would :)
Deletecompanionship is the perfect caption for this photo. adorable pup. great capture of a moment in time
ReplyDeleteThank you Sandra, so happy you enjoyed. It still gives me a smile when I come across it.
DeleteHow I miss not having a four legged companion. While we plan on travelling when possible though it is not fair. Cheers Diane
ReplyDeleteMe too Diane, and we don't for the same reasons as you :) Cheers!
DeleteGreat shot. The dog is hot and is also loyal.
ReplyDeleteThank you Yogi, yes indeed :)
DeleteWell, the poor little dog has a good color to be out in the sun.
ReplyDeleteThat he did! If I remember correctly they left soon after to continue their journey. We stayed a while to enjoy the view.
DeleteOh, that's a beautiful picture. It could be a painting hung on the wall.
ReplyDeleteThank you Gigi, that's a great idea :)
DeleteSuch a cute doggie!
ReplyDeleteWasn't he? Thank you William :)
DeleteHi Denise,
ReplyDeleteSuper image, lovely little dog, that was probably saying , ' your in the shade, come and fetch me to join you'
All the best,
John
Believe me John, I would have. I have also shared my water with a lot of pooches I felt needed it on our travels, asking permission of their humans to approach first of course :)
DeleteWhat a sweet picture ❤️
ReplyDeleteThank you Tanya :)
DeleteAww that dog is so cute :)
ReplyDeleteA very nice photograph.
All the best Jan
He certainly was. Thank you Jan and all the best to you too :)
DeleteThis is a really nice capture, Denise, and that small dog is so cute and probably hot as well.
ReplyDeleteThank you Dorothy, and thankfully not long after this was taken, a lady joined them and they were on their way :) Funny what you remember all these years later.
