I love seeing this, especially because so many of my followers are living in Texas. Is this where you live? And the facts are fascinating; I had no idea about the wool.
ReplyDeleteHappy you liked it Ginny and I thought of our blogging friends from that state. I don't live here but remember it from driving across a few years back. A lot of the facts I read were new to me.
DeleteEverything in Texas comes big!
ReplyDeleteSo I have heard William :)
DeleteInteresting facts you live in a big country completely different from my Europe which is very crowded and multinational
ReplyDeleteI had no idea how big it was until we drove across it Gosia.
DeleteLove that perspective, brilliant. At least we made it to Dallas last year so I have a little more idea of what the big city is about! Love all the facts, thanks Diane
ReplyDeleteYou are very welcome Diane, happy to hear you made it to Dallas last year.
DeleteAnd I take something else, from that first illustration... When Europeans, or anyone, start quoting things like... "Compare the number of guns in the US, with the number in England or Spain, etc." Or "compare some other statistic, between the US and Italy, for instance..." I say... Wait!!!!
ReplyDeleteLook at the difference in size! And thus, the difference in number of people! Between the United States Of America and those teeny, tiny countries! Thus, their statistics mean nothing.
Yeahhhhhh...... !!!!!

Hi LC, comparisons without context are always difficult :)
DeleteI really like this perspective, Denise! And thank you so much for sharing all these facts!
ReplyDeleteThank you Linda, you are very welcome :)
DeleteThat certainly does put things into perspective!
ReplyDeleteGreat information too, thank you.
All the best Jan
Glad you enjoyed them Jan :)
DeleteNo wonder everything is bigger in Texas.
ReplyDelete:-)
DeleteThis was great, Denise!
ReplyDeleteTexas is filled with fascinating history.
Hi Sandra, it certainly is.
DeleteThis is all interesting, Denise. I have been to Dallas, once when I was young...and then had a short layover in Houston when flying home from LA a few years ago.
ReplyDeleteI always think of Tex at The RunARound Ranch Report any time I think of Texas. I still miss her.
I can't remember the city we drove through Rose. I hope I see more of it one of these days. I miss Tex too!
DeleteWe always hear how big Texas is but seldom realize the actual size.
ReplyDeleteMe too, this diagram made it sink in for me.
DeleteIt sure is a big state except when comparing it to our states, we only have seven in a country as big as yours. I remember being surprised when I found out that Texas had snow, that it had high mountains and that it had beaches. I always thought it was all desert.
ReplyDeleteI remember feeling the exact same way when I first moved here Diane, but yes, I would like to see those perspectives with a map on Australia.
DeleteInteresting, Denise. I didn't know Texas was that big or that there had been so many flags before the US.
ReplyDeleteNever knew either Valerie.
DeleteUm grande estado.
ReplyDeleteUm abraço e bom Domingo.

ReplyDeleteThank you Eileen and the same to you.
Deletelots of our blog friends live in this state.. I like seeing it on Europe because it shows how close all the places there are to each other. I like maps also
ReplyDeleteI know Sandra, and I didn't even think about it when I lived over there.
DeleteLike California and Hawaii, Texas was it's own nation for a while.... That map says much!
ReplyDeleteIt certainly does Cloudia.
DeleteMy former tenant was from Texas. He was well mannered.
ReplyDeleteI remember your tenant Gigi.
DeleteWow, that is a perspective. I remember years ago when my sister lived in West Germany (before the reunification) she told me that West Germany was the size of Oregon and had a 100 million people.
ReplyDeleteHow interesting Yogi.
DeleteThat is very interesting Linda.
ReplyDeleteHi Denise and wow it really shows us how small we are in comparison to the USA. A really interesting post with some great information, 43 inches of rain????. All the best, John
ReplyDeleteDoesn't it just? Always surprises me too, especially when I first came over here 41 years ago and it still takes me by surprise now that we are heading west, just how much land there is here, and I love seeing it.
DeletePerspective is everything! I never thought about this comparison so it's quite a shock!
ReplyDeleteTo me too Betty :)
