Many of my photographs are taken at Meadowlark Gardens lately. At this time of the year it is a great place to get some exercise that doesn't feel like exercise. Surrounded by so many wonderful visuals, it is very relaxing and soothing.
The catbird stayed around long enough for me to get several photos. These two were my favorites.
A photo of a Canada Goose near the lake and the children's garden.
Two heads popped up as I approached.
There was something very tasty in the raised bed of plants.
They also seemed a little calmer today. I saw very young geese but no nests, and no goslings. If you missed my experience of two very protective parents, you can read the story here.
I am sharing with the following as they become available, with my thanks to our hosts Eileen, Misty, Anni and Stewart for these great memes. To visit other participants you can click on their names.
What a truly delightful place. Thanks for taking us along.
ReplyDeleteThis is a fine and lovely catbird picture. Around here, they are so secretive and hard to spot. They do not come out in the open very much. But I hear their calls! Really cute picture of the goose heads!
ReplyDeleteLovely critters! I am glad the parents are no longer hostile to you. A great place to visit.
ReplyDeleteI love the robins and the catbird...amazing captures

ReplyDeleteThis is such a beautiful and soothing place, Denise! I could imagine myself spending a few delightful hours here! Thanks so much for sharing.
ReplyDeletelovely images! especially like the catbird... not a bird I am familiar with!
ReplyDeleteThe robin looks like he's talking in that first shot. I do like photographing Canada geese- but they do need people to give them a wide berth.
ReplyDeleteCatbirds never used to migrate this far north. I saw them at Williamsburg a few times in the 1980s, but never here until recent years. Ditto the Crepe Myrtle. Cold killed it to the ground. No more, we are now in a new garden zone. Robins are wonderful. One of them follows me around outside. He knows when I work outside he can get a fresh bath and a tasty earthworm or two.
ReplyDeletejealous of the catbird. would love to see one.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos as always I just looked up the Baltimore Oriole and it is a really colourful bird isn't it? XXX Don
ReplyDeleteThese are wonderful. Love the fat robin. I am going to have to go back and read you past posts. I have been out of commission with workmen here tearing up the dining room and kitchen floors and putting in all new appliances. It has been nightmare. The house is a mess and I do not like disorder. Hope you are OK. Hope I will have more time end week to get on the internet. I thought about you when the vote came down wondering how you felt about it all. genie
ReplyDeleteSome of those nice birds did cooperate and let you take a good photo.
ReplyDeleteLets hope those geese are not doing to pre-Thanks Giving seasoning by eating the herbs!
ReplyDeleteCheers - Stewart M - Melbourne
