WHITE GEESE AND GUINEA FOWL

Last weekend we had the wonderful opportunity of being around these rather splendid looking white geese, and for the most part they were busy preening their feathers.

There were also a couple of Guinea Fowl in the area.  This one was crying out all the time.

I always find them rather extraordinary looking but it was the first time I had heard their call.

I am sharing them with the following.  Thank you Anni and Stewart for two great memes.

  1. These are amazing photos! I especially love the geese photos period while their feathers are so beautiful ruffled up like that. I am wondering if their fathers are like that all the time or if it's because they were fluffing them. Love the face of the guinea fowl

  10. My SIL kept geese and flow for a while until something killed them...Foxes, Raccoons, Chicken Hawks. Last time I visited he had netting all over his duck/chicken yard and shelters.

  17. Hello Denise!:) Lovely sharp images of both birds. The Guinea Fowl really is an odd looking bird, with a small head that doesn't seem to match the rest of the body, but what an interesting bird. Thank you for sharing.:)

  22. Wow the white geese and quinea fowl are both beautiful! Don't know why the dates of the meme sprung back to what was filled in by V20's host - maybe I was too much in a hurry, so it's not entirely your fault:):) There's always next (or another) week if you have set your heart on showing one of these two! It's flattering that you make SEASONS so important:) Have a great week Denise!

I thank you for taking the time to leave a comment. I enjoy reading them very much and always try to return a visit. As I do monitor comments it may take a while for them to appear, even quite late depending on what is going on and how much time I am able to spend on the computer.

Also, there are times when I delete by mistake, so if something you have written to me is gone, it's usually because my fingers have pushed the wrong button!
