HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE - MY LATEST iPAD JIGSAW PUZZLE

I thought this was colorful and very cheery. As I didn't have much else prepared, I thought to share it.

It has been hot and humid and I'm sure many are experiencing the same. There have been a couple of thunderstorms over the last two days. We saw several downed trees yesterday when out and about. No bad weather on this sunny day.

We went out yesterday and it was fun. However, those early settlers have my never-ending admiration, also the people who were here long before them. It doesn't really bother Gregg much. He grew up in Virginia. He threw many a baseball in the sandlot on days like this. How about further south or those in the tropics? How do you all handle these sweltering days?

We came across a new park he saw online, not too far away. We couldn’t believe that we had never heard of the place. Called a hidden gem by the person on the video, it was indeed and only 35-40 minutes away. We asked one of the staff how long it had been designated a public park and he said 20 years. Never even heard anyone mention it on our trips to other parks all these years. It was relatively quiet even on a Saturday. Lovely to discover somewhere new I must say.

The other people we saw was a group of what looked like high-school graduates renting kayaks. The last time meet up before they all went their separate ways Gregg thought. There was a boat ramp nearby and several cars were in the nearby parking lot. I will write a post about the place next week.

Not much else to say so will wish you all a happy Sunday and a great week coming up.

Also, thanks for stopping by, always very much appreciated.

  10. Hello! I love what Gregg said about those high school kids. It is funny, isn't it? You go through those four years of high school with your friends, thinking it will last forever. Then you are all happy together graduating, completely unaware that no matter if and when you meet again, it will never be the same. Great observation by Gregg. Have a cozy summer afternoon, my friend.

  11. Denise, I can't wait to learn more about this place. Sometimes we visit the destinations everyone knows about and expects us to see, but hidden just outside them are little gems like the one you discovered. And the fact that it wasn't packed with people hopefully gave you some peaceful moments to truly enjoy it. I'm looking forward to hearing more about your adventures there.

  18. That digital jigsaw puzzle is so vibrant and definitely brings a bright, cheerful energy to a Sunday! Discovering a gorgeous hidden gem of a park just 40 minutes away after 20 years is the ultimate weekend surprise, especially when you have it mostly to yourself on a busy Saturday. It must have been bittersweet seeing those graduates renting kayaks for one last big hangout before heading off on their separate paths. As for the sweltering humidity, I usually handle it by staying glued to the air conditioning or finding a shady spot with a massive glass of iced tea, because my admiration for the early settlers definitely peaks on days like that! I cannot wait to read your full post about the new park next week.

    1. Very kind of you. I will have a post ready when time allows. I have quite a busy week ahead but I am looking forward to sharing the few photos I took. We are very fortunate to have air-conditioning aren't we? My husband is a big drinker of iced tea, has it every day. Me not so much :) you will usually find me drinking a very large glass of water with a slice of lemon. Very touching to see those graduates, they all looked so young and eager, excited to take their next step in life no doubt. I wish you a great week Melody and look forward to visiting soon.

  22. the puzzle is stunning. love it!!! as for the heat that is in our back yard AKA Sahara desert, only with humidity, I stay in doors. I make Beau come inside because I can't stand to be out there. I don't do outdoors except from 6:20 to 7:30, at 7 I wake everyone up because I can't mulch dead leaves and it takes me half an hour. the drought is killing our beautiful Florida... and me and the heat is horrid
