SATURDAY MORNING AT THE BIRD FEEDER - MOTHERS CAN BE SO EMBARRASSING - GROANER ALERT

That's all there is for this week's

Saturday Morning at the Bird Feeder.

Thanks for visiting and have a great weekend!

For our overseas friends to translate using the third widget down on my sidebar.

One photo this week which says:

"We asked our mother why our beaks looked so different from hers."

"She looked at him in shock and said "Holy Cow! A talking Finch!"

"Mothers can embarrass their children sometimes."

  2. That’s brilliant 😄... poor finch, having a full identity crisis and all mum can focus on is the talking part! Typical… completely misses the question and goes straight to panic mode. “Mothers can embarrass their children sometimes” might be the understatement of the year.

    Wishing you a heerlijk weekend!

  3. It's a mother's job to embarrass her offspring occasionally . . .

  6. I know these are house finches. One of your readers, though, asked if they were grosbeaks. I heard yesterday that grosbeaks have returned to our area. I hope one or more stop by my feeders!

    1. Ginny mentioned the Grosbeaks. I would love it if they visited. Good luck getting them to visit your feeders :)

  7. A lighthearted little moment, those bird feeder “family dramas” always bring a smile. The humour is simple, but it works well for a weekend post.

    1. I am 99 percent sure these are a male and female house finches, probably mates, but I could be wrong. I have never seen a male grosbeak at our feeders. I also welcome more knowledgeable birders to let me know if they think I am incorrect. I always want to give the correct information :)

  16. Humor is sorely needed in trump’s world. Nothing funny about war.

    1. No indeed. When my mother was in her teens she lived in very dire times. In her darkest hours she said there was always someone who knew how important humor was, who could crack a joke and make her smile, and laugh even. Humor can sometimes give us the strong shoulder we need, if that makes any sense.
