They had a more exciting time than we did. We happily spent it quietly, toasting the new year in with a glass of sherry. We opened up the back door thinking we would be hearing a few firecrackers but there was nary a peep nor a sparkle.
And that's how it goes on a
Saturday Morning at the Bird Feeder.
Thanks for flying in and I hope your year is a great one.
For our international friends to translate:
1st Photo:
"I have discovered a new taste sensation. The leave son the mums are still green. I am leaving the flower heads to the birds. They will love the seeds. I am such a good boy!"
"Excuse me? I am the good boy! And I am not here for any reason at all. The lady thinks I am just so darned cute."
"Hmmm...."
2nd Photo:
The party's over for another year. My waistline is happy. Get thee behind me eggnog. Put the Champaigne away."
"I am heading up north, but I'll be back to visit next year."

The little wren looks decidedly plumper!
ReplyDeleteHe certainly does :)
DeleteA quiet new year down here too, Denise.

DeleteHappy New Year to all of you on the deck. thanks for the chuckles and your new Dog On the Deck visitor is adorable and looks very much like our dog Joey. he has been an angel for many many years and was a part Saint Bernard and who knows what, was black and white and lived to about 15 I think.
ReplyDeleteAnd to you too Sandra :) You are very welcome for the chuckles. I will have to check your photos of Joey next time I come over. He sounds very sweet.

DeleteYou must have fed them enough...look at that little bird..so plump and cute!
ReplyDeleteIndeed Angela but they also fluff up their feathers more in the winter, for that extra warmth :)

You are very welcome Jan and thank you. I hope you do too and all the best :)
DeleteWe stayed home for New Year’s Eve as well and actually stayed up to see the new year in. We didnt manage to stay up the past couple years. I didn’t have to open the door to hear fireworks. I heard fireworks loud and clear, with doors and windows doors and windows closed, as I headed to bed. The fireworks must have been set off by a nearby neighbor. I didn’t even look to see if I could see them. I was focused on bed :)
ReplyDeleteYou have nice big yards where you are. I would imagine it’s a safer proposition. I was always afraid one would land on our roof, lol! I always seem to be focused on bed these days. Have a wonderful weekend Linda :)
DeleteFesta animada na granja de aves!!
