ReplyDeleteYou got me curious about that expression, so I looked it up. Very interesting: "The quote "straighten up and fly right" comes from a 1943 song by Nat "King" Cole and means to start behaving properly, maturely, and correctly, essentially to "get your act together". The song was inspired by a folk tale called "The Buzzard and the Monkey," which Cole's father, a Baptist minister, used in his sermons." And now I know, thanks for mentioning it. I love my curiosity journeys.
