with a few friends…
and saw this tacked up on a pole. Says it all, don’t you think?
The practice of Jeep Ducking originated in a small town in Canada in 2020. A woman named Allision Parliament, from Ontario, randomly bought a bunch of rubber ducks from a convenience store and gave one to another Jeep owner with a note that said, “Have a Great Day.” The intent was to bring a smile to the individual and spread a little cheer that we all needed during the pandemic.
The small interaction turned out much better than expected. The Jeep owner walked out of the store and at first, was confused when he saw a rubber duck being placed on his Jeep. However, after reading the note that was left behind, left a huge smile on his face. That night, #DuckDuckJeep was born after being posted on Instagram and the rest is history.
Denise, I love ❤️ the rubber ducks. Your posts make me smile, dear friend. 😊 Yes, it is so important to be kind. Thank you so much for being you.
ReplyDeleteSo sweet of you Linda and I am so glad :) Agree, very much so :) I feel the same way about you my dear friend, thank you! xoxox
DeleteMost definitely says it all!
ReplyDeleteBest to you this fine day. :)
Thank you Rita and the same to you :)
DeleteLove the cruising quackers! My garden hat has a bee on it with "Bee Kind." Linda in Kansas
ReplyDeleteThank you Linda and would love a gardening hat with a pin like yours :)
DeleteYes, it says it ALL! In church tonight, someone said that they think most people are not kind. You have a JEEP?? And these are your Jeep duckies? I have been snapping them whenever I see a Jeep.
ReplyDeleteHi Ginny, we don’t have a jeep. We are looking after it for almost three weeks and in turn we get to use it for our downsizing project. A win-win and I have fun with this adorable collection of duckies :)
DeleteThe rubber duckies are looking good, all colours. The sign is a good one for sure.
ReplyDeleteThanks Margaret :) much appreciated.
DeleteLove the ducks AND the sign. Kindness should be spread like confetti. Everywhere.
ReplyDeleteThank you and totally agree :)
DeleteThese are incredibly cute to admire.
ReplyDeleteI agree :)
DeleteAs long as people follow through on the slogan. There is not much kindness coming from elected officials these days.
ReplyDeleteThank you David :), and that is glaringly apparent. Instead they stoke fear and lies, sad to say.
DeleteBeing kind is the duckiest way to be. Love the ducks, the sign and this post.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ann :) so glad.
DeleteLovely, cheerful, smiling friends. Yes, we could all try to be kind, though we're not always given the right examples to follow.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jan :) and you speak the truth.
DeleteWe have 2 Jeeps and not one has a rubber duck, but these are apparently quite the “thing” now.
ReplyDeleteThey are, I have seen them on the dashboard of a lot of jeeps. It is a very nice, cheerful trend :)
DeleteJeep Ducks? LOL!
ReplyDeleteBe kind. It is so simple but so hard for some folks!
I love my s-in-l’s jeep ducks :) yes, so hard and yet should be so easy and the self benefits are so rewarding.
DeleteThose ducks look like lots of fun :-D Great photos :-D
ReplyDeleteThanks Ananka, they certainly are :)
DeleteI love all the duckies and the BE KIND sign.
ReplyDeleteWe can spread that kindness everywhere.
Take care, have a great day!
Thank you Eileen, it starts with us. You take care and have a great day also :)
DeleteI totally agree
ReplyDeleteThank you Linda, I knew you would my friend :)
DeleteVery cute and absolutely right! Thank you.
ReplyDeleteYou are very welcome my friend :)
DeleteThat is quite the flock you have there! We have two lonely quackers.
ReplyDeleteThis is my sister-in-law’s flock that we are happily taking care of for a few weeks :) where they live, other jeep owners leave them on hoods. These are gifts from strangers but fellow jeep owners.
DeleteYou must be a kind person to have all these duck friends!
ReplyDeleteNot perfect but always trying :) thanks Sandi.
DeleteI didn't know there was a jeep duck connection! There's one celeb who often says be kind, and I wish she took her own advice!
ReplyDeleteAlways :) Thanks Boud, I have just added the story of how all of this with ducks and jeeps started.
DeleteGood words to live by, not everyone does, unfortunately. Ducks are so cute.
ReplyDeleteVery much so and thank you :)
DeleteYES being KIND is so easy...and OH can it change a person's day
ReplyDeleteHugs Cecilia
Very true Cecilia! Sending hugs :)
DeleteInteresting story, I guess we all could use a cheery duck.
ReplyDeleteNot a bad idea :)
DeleteHope lots of kindness finds you today!
ReplyDeleteThank you Ellen, you too :)
DeleteThat sign does say it all. Thanks for the history of DuckduckJeep! Not having a Jeep we haven't experienced being ducked.
ReplyDeleteYou are very welcome Marcia, and thank you :)
DeleteI had no idea there was a DuckDuckJeep! Being kind is so much easier than being cruel.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sandra, we didn’t know about this ourselves until we saw the family’s jeep for the first time. Very true about being kind :)
DeleteFun drive
ReplyDeleteThank you Christine, it certainly was :)
DeleteBien acompañada vas en el coche, yo creo que no cabría ni uno más.
ReplyDeleteSaludos.
Gracias por hacerme sonreír. Tienes razón :) Te deseo un día maravilloso.
DeleteThanks for spreading your kindness...and so many smiles with all of us!!:)
ReplyDeleteSweet of you to say Jennifer, thank you so much. It has always been a joy to share a few smiles and they go hand-in-hand with kindness :) I know you for being a very kind person dear friend.
DeleteThank you! And smiles just naturally go along with kindness! These days we all need both even more than ever.
ReplyDeleteYou are very welcome Sallie :) I totally agree, more than ever and thank you!
DeleteIt was a very interesting way to spread the thought of being kind.
ReplyDeleteThank you Red, kindness needs to be spread and shared in every way possible :)
DeleteUy que lindos patitos. Te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteMe alegra que te gusten estos patitos. Te mando un beso :)
Deletethese are wonderful photos. I love the sign!
ReplyDeleteSo glad, thank you Jeanie :)
DeleteLook at all those duckies! You have so many unique and cute ones. I used to buy them for my granddaughter when she was a baby. Sometimes when I see a wonderful one with a fun costume, I buy it for myself hehehe. The Be Kind sign is really a good thing to see every day while passing through. Thanks for your kindness as well, Denise.
ReplyDelete~Sheri
They are but they are not mine. The jeep is on loan from family for a few weeks :) I would love to see some of your duckies sometime Sheri :)
DeleteI’ve seen jeeps with lots of duckies. So cute!
ReplyDeleteI have only just started noticing them since we saw these. They were all ones people have left them. They would come back and find a new one on the hood. They live in a coastal town, and whether this makes a difference or not, I don’t have a clue :)
DeleteThat is such a great story aboot the rubber ducks and a sweet way to bring a little sunshine into someones life. It is the start of a beautiful tradition. Be kind - so simple really.
ReplyDeleteHappy you enjoyed that story. We keep coming across jeeps where we live and have not seen any of these collections up here :) Yes, the important message above everything, be kind!
