SATURDAY MORNING AT THE BIRD FEEDER - LOUD?

Blue Jay had his say!

But so are you my dear Blue Jay. The experts say your calls can be very loud, and can sound like a scream, especially your alarm calls which alert everyone. So good for you Mr. Blue Jay!

Another hero! Well done my fine feathered friend!

He would have had his answer, but Camera Lady tripped over the Froggy Zen Master. After many utterances which raised Zen Master's eyes to the ceiling, he thought it prudent to leave and let her practice more Zen on her own.

But first he left her with this, "A Zen state, also known as mindfulness, is a state of calm attentiveness where one is fully present in the moment, free from excessive thought or attachment to external stimuli. It's about being aware of your surroundings and inner experience simultaneously, allowing you to respond consciously and effectively. This state can be cultivated through practices like meditation and mindful living." And he then said, "You have a long way to go. More practice!"

And that is how it goes on a Saturday Morning at the Bird Feeder.

  1. Well, I don't know how you can be free from external stimulation and aware of your surroundings at the same time! Did you really trip over a Zen Frog? Did you get hurt? Blue Jays are so raucous!! But I have never heard how loud a Wren can be. even though I have been attacked by one. Plus attacked by a Mockingbird. Saturday At The birdfeeder has now set me up for a great weekend! Whenever I feel down, I go to the last one and read it.

    1. We think alike, I don’t know either except that it must take a lot of practice :) No, I didn’t trip over the Zen Frog but I can fall out of my shoes at the drop of a hat! I go extra carefully these days, lol! You have been attacked by a wren? Was a nest nearby I wonder? I have heard about a Blue Jay doing that, a mocking bird too. You say the sweetest things Ginny, I am so happy these Saturday posts give you a lift. Your comment has made mine :) Thank you my dear friend.

  6. I wonder if froggy lost his zen when you tripped over him. Hope you didn't get hurt. I'm thinking that I have a tough time with being free from external stimulation and being aware of my surroundings especially when I get involved in a project. I tend to block everything out and have no clue what's going on around me.

    1. No, I only tripped a tiny bit, thanks Ann. I can understand you being in the zone when you are doing a project. I have been told I can be laser focused when I am concentrating on a task, especially if it’s one I enjoy :)

  10. I hope you didn't jar your knee on Froggy Zen master. I like the sounds of nature - most of them!

  11. Oh boy do I agree Crows and Blue Jays break the sound barrier sometimes.
What is always very funny to me is some of the raptors: hawks and eagles have calls that don't match their fierceness.
    Love the tweets

  15. I don't think any amount of practice will help me with Zen during this administration, nothing but evil permeating the area; but I do love to listen to the birds. Just a few days ago I found an app that helps you identify the bird calls. It's called Merlin Bird ID. I was sitting on the deck wondering what bird was singing so pretty and said something to a friend who told me about the app. I loaded it and have used it several times. Hope you didn't really fall over the Zen Frog, or if you did; you didn't get hurt.
