GOSIA AND GOOD FENCES

These photos are taken of my neighbor's back yard, and the fences that separate our gardens are just what I needed for Gosia's Good Fences.

They have a real pretty yard and I love the birdhouses and wind chimes.
There are signs that the season is changing.  It has been the usual hot and humid summer,  but we have had enough rain this month to keep the grass from going entirely brown.  The rain has sometimes come with heavy thunderstorms.  Yesterday's was  a deluge but no thunder or lightning.
For the first time that I can remember we had mushrooms growing in the back.  I was happy to see them.

I found a brand new flower also, one that we had not planted.  A small sunflower.

I am taking part in Good Fences hosted by Gosia.  If you would like to see other fences, or join in with your own, you can go hereThank you for hosting Gosia!

And thank you for looking at today's post.  I wish you all a great weekend.

  1. I would like to come over and sit awhile in one of those wrought iron chairs. Cute mushrooms, and a very sweet little sunflower.

  6. Your neighbourhood looks very green. I like the garden ornaments. I have a few in our garden including wind chimes, which I enjoy hearing when there's a breeze. It's a relief to get a breeze when the weather is hot and humid. We have had toadstools growing in the flower border. I think it's because these ones like the moist earth and the shade of the flowering plants.

    1. Our back yard has sever trees that offer a lot of shade. The mushrooms must love it :) The sound of wind chimes reminds me lovely old clocks I have heard over the years.

  14. Nice view....I lived here 26 yrs with no fence but with moms passing and me taking on her dogs I had to invest in a fence. I like it though, it divides the space up and it helped with mom's dog that was a runner. I caught her out digging for a mole the other day and yes, I talked to her and asked her was she digginf for a mole or trying to escape. Not sure what I will do when one day I ask one of my animals a question and they REPLY!

    1. Hi Pam, I think you are wonderful taking on your mother's dogs. Our dog, she's been gone many years now, also liked to dig. Our yard began to look like a thousand moles had adopted our garden as their home.

  15. Nice that everything is still so green. I like seeing trees with little decorative bird houses. I'm hoping fall doesn't rush here in the mountains!

  16. I like those fences. I like your wrought iron chairs and table too. I am thinking early morning coffee with the Sunday paper would be a perfect place to have it.

  18. I love finding mushrooms in the yard...I was just thinking the other day that I need to be watching for fairy rings. When Roger was in rehab it was in September and I could look out on one of the biggest fairy rings I had ever seen...it was quite a distance away and I could count 17 mushrooms from our 5th floor window.
