"May you find serenity and tranquility in a world you may not always understand.
May the pain you have known and the conflict you have experienced give you the strength to walk through life facing each new situation with courage and optimism.
Always know that there are those whose love and understanding will always be there, even when you feel most alone.
May you discover enough goodness in others to believe in a world of peace.
May a kind word, a reassuring touch and a warm smile be yours every day of your life, and may you give these gifts as well as receive them.
Remember the sunshine when the storm seems unending.
Teach love to those who hate, and let that love embrace you as you go out into the world.
May the teachings of those you admire become part of you, so that you may call upon them.
Remember, those whose lives you have touched and whose have touched yours are always a part of you, even if the encounters were less than you would have wished. It is the content of the encounter that is more important than the form.
May you not become too concerned with material matters, but instead place immeasurable value on the goodness in your heart.
Find time each day to see beauty and love in the world around you.
Realize that each person has limitless abilities, but each of us is different in our own way. What you feel you lack in the present may become one of your strengths in the future.
May you see your future as one filled with promise and possibility.
Learn to view everything as a worthwhile experience.
May you find enough inner strength to determine your own worth by yourself, and not be dependent on another's judgement of your accomplishments.
May you always feel loved."

DeleteHello Denise
ReplyDeleteI love this poem, I am glad you reposted it. Take care, happy Friday! Have a great weekend.
Thank you for your kind words Eileen, I appreciate them very much. You take care and have a happy weekend! :)
Delete“Learn to view everything as a worthwhile experience.” Hah! Perhaps we should ask the people of a Gaza how they feel about that, or the Jews as they marched to the gas chambers. I knew a person several years ago who was blinded by diabetic retinopathy before she was six years old, was debilitated in one way or another virtually all her life, had to have one leg amputated and died less than a year later. I doubt that she viewed everything as a worthwhile experience.
ReplyDeleteWe seem to think alike, David.
DeleteDavid, this is from my 'about me' on my side bar. "I very rarely mention what I read or see on the news. There is so much going on here and in our world that I find heartbreaking, but I hope you can come here as a place of peace, find something that will take your mind off things for a little while and give you a smile."
DeleteMy whole life I have been a student of history. I am fully aware of the sadness and horrors that go on in this world. In my feed I have the name of one Holocaust Victim sent each day, so that I will never forget them. I never forget the other horrors either. This post was done to put a little hope back into the world.
Very well worth repeating, Denise, Thank you.
ReplyDeleteThank you Janice, I appreciate that very much :)
DeleteThis post came at the right time for me, as I have been experiencing some depressing issues. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry you are having a tough time Gigi, I have visited your blog and have sent you messages. In this one I send you my love and hope things will get easier for you and David. Hugs, Denise xo
DeleteLive in peace. Wise words.
ReplyDeleteAgree Sandi, thank you :)
DeleteIt's sometime difficult to find good when the bad is so pervasive. All we can do is try.
ReplyDeleteThat's all we can do Sandra :)
DeleteI wish I had found this while I was teaching. Many kids listened to quotes like these.
ReplyDeleteThey do and I know I do :) We could snowball it down the hill and watch it gather into a bigger snowball.
Deletethis is beautiful and true and also fits my life right now perfectly! thanks, I needed this...
ReplyDeleteHi Sandra, I'm so glad you feel that and thank you for sharing my dear friend :)
