Today was a red-letter day, or you could say a red berry day. I went to the gardens for the first time since September 7th. It seemed much longer.
It was a short trip. When we were retracing our steps back to our car, I saw the berry bush alongside the path, one that I am very familiar with. However, it seemed to be the peak time to be laden with all those berries. Too good a chance to miss for taking photos. More from the garden in a few days.
I found this haiku to share.
Peeps under the bush
Between the green winter leaves
Smiling red berries.

Thanks for looking everyone,
and have a great weekend!
I love the poem! We have what I think are the same berries here. Don't know what they are, but I will be posting them.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you got back to the gardens. Love those berries and look forward to seeing more.
ReplyDeleteThe red colour is stunning.
ReplyDeleteWe have had heavy falls of snow this week in South Yorkshire and elsewhere. The garden birds will be glad of the berries. We see them pecking at the berries on the hawthorn tree. All the best dear blog friend.
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely haiku! I love how it captures the joy of finding those little red treasures among the winter greenery.
