SATURDAY MORNING AT THE BIRD FEEDER - UH-OH, WHAT HAPPENED?

After witnessing furry animals looking for food, some time later the Mister heard a loud bang outside. The furry ones had disappeared by the time he peered through the curtains.  He couldn't see anything amiss and went to bed...but the next morning...The Froggies3 could not wait to tell him (he understands froggy also).

The other birds listened with great sympathy.
The Carolina Wren thought it was probably an accident, that they couldn't have meant to cause such a catastrophe to Froggies3. The Black-capped Chickadee agreed...
and so did the visiting moth who joined in half-way through the conversation. He was trying to get into the house and though the Mrs. told him he was very welcome to stay on the screen, she didn't really want him taking up residence inside. So sorry, she said, but explained the weather was warmer now.
The Mourning Doves for all that they had such kind hearts...
were a little more skeptical, especially when they saw these mug shots. Naughty Boy definitely had the touch of the rascal in his countenance. Wannaby Naughty Boy at least looked a little remorseful.
Sparrow remained on the rail post, taking it all in but saying nothing.

Well, everyone deserves a second chance and besides, Froggy Fairy worked her magic.

and so they stayed and lived happily ever after, and the little furry rascals were forgiven by all.

And so it goes on a Saturday Morning at the Bird Feeder.

  2. Oh my gracious! You are a very understanding nature lover, Denise. We had raccoons living underneath our deck and we sealed the deck to keep them out. Have a wonderful Saturday, Denise.

    1. I point my finger in my father's direction, and towards his mother too. They loved anything in nature. No, I wouldn't want the little rascals taking up residence in or under our house :) Thank you Kay, you have a wonderful Saturday also :)

  8. Well those little rascals. That wasn't very neighborly of them to destroy Froggies 3. So did you fix that one or buy a new one?
Love all the photos, especially the mourning doves. Those AI mug shots of the raccoons are pretty cute too.

  9. Raccoons can wreak havoc, as I know only too well. We had to pay to have one removed from the attic, and my bird feeders are guaranteed to be on the ground if I forget to bring them in at night.

    1. They certainly can, fortunately we don't have too many issues with them. I wouldn't be happy if one got into the attic. I do remember one or two of my hanging birdfeeders disappearing, and suspected they might have had something to do with that :) I try to remember to bring them in at night but forget sometimes.

  11. Happy Saturday! I learned when the birds appear so puffed up they are conserving heat like that carolina wren, it is not overweight!

  12. I laughed and smiled and giggled all the way through and you KNOW how much I LOVE THIS! I thought you would replace it with metal.. I thought it was metal, did not know it was ceramic.. good idea to put it lower to the deck. good job with AI

    1. You made my day Sandra :) so glad you get a kick out of this and thank you for the sweet compliments. I actually realized it was ceramic when it arrived as I had also thought I was buying metal. They were just painted to look that way. I didn't read the product description very carefully apparently, and it taught me a lesson.

  16. What an eventful Saturday morning at the bird feeder! It's heartwarming to see the furry rascals forgiven by all with the help of Froggy Fairy's magic. Even amidst a little mischief, there's always room for forgiveness and understanding. The visiting moth, though not quite welcomed inside, adds an amusing touch to the tale. Here's to more peaceful and harmonious mornings at the bird feeder! 🐦🌿

  17. awwww too bad about the loss of froggies3, it was a cutie...it does not look like it can be repaired with glue!! those critters can certainly be little rascals but i guess everyone is hungry and needs to eat!! those mug shots are priceless!!

    1. You are right Debbie, impossible to repair but the Froggy3 Fairy worked her magic and there is now a Froggy3 out there waving and smiling again :) Exactly, not wise to get in between a raccoon and it's need to eat :)

  18. Goodness gracious, Denise! The Froggy Fairy did her magic for sure. I love how all is forgiven. The naughty boys surely must take notice and behave in the future. Darling story line, my friend! I see a children's book ready for publishing.

  19. Did you start blogging in 2016? POOR Froggies3. And my lovely squirrels were certainly not guilty this time. HOW did you get a new one so fast?? That moth is incredible looking, it even looks like it has horns! I love your Dove and Wren pics the best! You have made my day, and I have been scrolling over and over. Despite the triple deaths.

    1. Hi Ginny, I actually started blogging in April of 2008 but opened this blog in 2016 after one of my visitors was having a lot of difficulty opening and reading my blog. I didn't know a lot and the issue. It turned out the problem was with her settings and another blogger helped her out. I had never come across that before and did not know which end was up in the blogging world and wouldn't have been able to help her. So here we are, with my 2016 blog still going and all seems well. I will just keep on going until who knows :)
