A long walk around the garden on a very hot, muggy day.
Our walks here are very enjoyable, and with plenty of benches in nice, quiet, shady spots, it is lovely to sit for a spell and enjoy the surroundings.

The gardens are gorgeous! Have you ever seen any actual Meadowlarks there? A Canada Goose really attacked you once? They can get fierce, running at you with their necks down. Is that a little bridge...so sweet! Also your first photo of the reflection is awesome!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Ginnie, no I have never actually seen any Meadowlarks there, yet. When I was sitting in a favorite spot, unbeknowns to me there was a pair of geese making a nest out of sight. No eggs but they were territorial. The mail gave me several warnings by making a lot of noise and even pecking at my feet as I sat there. Then when I moved to the other side it wasn't far enough as he started coming towards me. Not an actual attack because I preempted it. I moved again! :)

DeleteDenise, your photos are beautiful! The video is fantastic, I love the images and enjoyed hearing you narrate! And you are smart to not get too close to the Canada geese. It was the most humid and hot here in Montreal today that it has been since the summer started. Thankfully, though, the humidity and high heat is supposed to break and the temperatures will drop...much to my delight. Thank you so much for sharing this lovely tour, Denise! And so nice to see so many Canada geese!

Hi EC, there's an old Noel Coward song, something about only Mad Dogs and Englishmen (or in this case woman) go out in the noon day sun! It was actually evening but it was still very hot and humid. We had also gotten up at 3.00 a.m. that morning to take our friend Bill to the airport.

DeleteI love those blue chairs but if I sat in one of them I'd never be able to get up without help. You do sound like you're out of breath and the video but I find when I talk in a video I always sound weird maybe it's the sound of her own voice we don't understand

DeleteCanada Geese deserve our respect and admiration. They are tough, dedicated parents and survivors. And in urban settings they are merely taking advantage of the smorgasbord of food we have laid out for them.
