AND NOW FOR THE GOATS...

A while ago our son took photos of a real pretty goat at a farmer's market he visited (I posted those here). I asked Gregg if he would take me over there a few days later. I always love looking around a farmer's market. After we parked our car the first thing that greets you is the enclosed area where they keep the goats. The goat I was looking for was not there, and in a way I was glad because they had probably taken him back to the farm and put back in the field. There was plenty of space for them here, but it gave me a good feeling that they weren't kept here permanently.

The first one that ambled over was this cutie. And talking about cuties I had the feeling that we were being stared at and I looked up.

Cutie No. 2 ambled over.

It wasn't long before his companion welcomed him, and I had a great time chatting to them.

I expect they were looking for food. Later I realized that you could purchase a small amount to feed them. I didn't realize this until we had left and I was talking to Gregg about it.

They were so much fun!

I saw a small pig in the same enclosure and was surprised to see it had a tusk. He seemed friendly enough and he was snoozing!

This handsome fellow is a spotted mini pot-bellied pig. City girl that I am, I only thought that wild boar had tusks. In fact, all domesticated pigs are descended from wild boars, but potbellied pigs trace specifically to various types of Southeast Asian pigs, and it's a regular thing for them to have tusks. Pigs are also very smart animals.

Our interaction was with the goats, but I noticed him get up after a while. He must have been hot as he wandered over to a small shed to enjoy the shade underneath. Pigs don't sweat, that's another thing I found out.

I will have more photos from the rest of our visit in a day or so.

Thanks for looking and
I hope your day is a great one.

Thank you so for taking the time to leave a comment. I enjoy reading them very much and always try to return a visit. As I do monitor comments it may take a while for them to appear, even quite late depending on what is going on and how much time I am able to spend on the computer.

I appreciate all who look at my blog, but I will not be publishing any businesses. If you are only able to publish anonymously, would you sign your name, and leave an addy so I can return your visit where possible? Thank you!
