No, she can't bake you brownies, human food's not good for you. This little finch could smell the one Mister brought her back as a surprise today. She is trying to count calories but we won't go there. That brownie was the best she had tried in a donkey's age she told him.
It had walnuts too, little finch heard the “yippee” all the way up in the trees when he gave it to her.
And that's how it goes on this Saturday Morning at the Bird Feeder. Maybe by next week the flocks will return. Here's hoping! Otherwise, she might be baking brownies (no, not really).
Thanks for flying in
and have a great weekend.
I am a little late with the dialog from the photos. My apologies to our overseas friends who enjoy a translation.

hearts. I love brownies though, with walnuts. Could you bake me some brownies”.
This is so cute! I haven't seen crows in such a long time. I have to go to Illinois to see squirrels. My daughter has a lot of those.
ReplyDeleteThank you Kay :) I am so used to the crows popping in, along with the squirrels.
DeleteLove it Denise, very cute. Well done.
ReplyDeleteVery kind of you to say. Thank you Margaret :)
DeleteDenise, enjoy your nails. Very cute, dear friend 🧡 👏 Bravo.
ReplyDeleteThank you dear Linda, I will :)
DeleteCute images and captions Denise! I would love some brownies too.
ReplyDeleteTake care, have a great weekend.
Much appreciated Eileen. You too :)
Deletewell this is a mystery, never heard of wildlife turning their heads up on the menu in a feeder Very Strange, and that said I am giggling that its no stranger than critters that talk. ha ha ha ha ha
ReplyDeleteCan’t quite figure it out myself and thank you for the sweet comment Sandra :)
DeleteI always enjoy Saturdays at the bird feeder. I wonder why it is that they don't want to eat. I never have too much trouble typing with long nails. Mine usually break before they get too long. A brownie sounds delicious. Even my doctor told me you should never deny yourself a little indulgence every now and then.
ReplyDeleteIt’s a conundrum : ) it will sort itself out soon no doubt. Ann, your doctor is a smart person.
DeleteThe birds are getting jolly choosy! It will all change when the weather gets colder.
ReplyDeleteThat's what I am thinking :)
DeleteThese are all so cute and funny. Sometimes I tell my husband what I think the animals we see say. Lol!
ReplyDeleteThank you Lux, and that's wonderful that you have these conversations with your husband. It adds a lot of fun to a day :)
DeleteI had a brand new bag of the hearts and chips once that nobody would eat. It did smell a bit off. Shelled sunflowers can go bad I guess (googled it) so I brought it back and they didn't even argue. I got a wild bird seed mix instead. But normally they all loved sunflowers and gobbled them up. So makes me wonder about your new bag. ??
ReplyDeleteThat's interesting info Rita, thank you very much for that :) I'll be more careful to check it out when purchased.
DeleteYour visitors are very advanced in their language skills, but those are incredibly fussy squirrels.
ReplyDeleteThey are, smart little things, lol! The squirrels are as you say :)
DeleteHopefully things will get sorted at the bird feeder! 3 cheers for your brownie treat!
ReplyDeleteThank you Ellen, hopefully :) Those were the best brownies I have ever tasted. A new bakery opened up recently and not so far away :0 I am in trouble or will have to put a brown paper bag over my head as we drive by!
DeleteBirds here are feeding on the driveway - tiny cones from the hemlock trees must be releasing delicacies I can't provide. Something possibly a bear stole the suet feeder! Niger seed feeder has been lonely. No takers.
ReplyDeleteLovely that you have all those natural treats on your driveway. I used to have bird feeders stolen when we had the wooden deck. Usually raccoons or squirrels. The rare sighting of a bear worried us where we kept the feeders away. Unfortunately, I have no overhangs on this new non-wood deck to put up things like hanging feeders. Hubs does not want to drill holes into it for fear of damage. The squirrels and the raccoons have hung on to them that the old one took quite a beating over the years. I miss the woodpeckers for that reason, though I see them in the trees every now and again. A bit too far out for my camera range unfortunately.
DeleteWow … I've not heard of any of the above mentioned critters turning down food, especially a crow. Must be an abundance of seeds sprinkled throughout your neighborhood. Those in my neck of the woods would love to come over. :)
ReplyDeleteThose in your neck of the woods are very welcome to come over. Please tell them to pack their bags, lol! :)
DeleteClever and witty, Denise! I'd love to have a brownie, though.
ReplyDeleteThank you Gigi, I wish I could give you a brownie :)
DeleteBirds don't think like we do so there's something they know about food sources and they won't tell us.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't be surprised Red :)
DeleteI had that experience with a suet block in the feeder. Even the squirrels wouldn't touch it. I wondered if it was something other than suet. Nobody would try it. Didn't buy that brand again.
ReplyDeleteVery wise Boud :) It's interesting what these feathered and furry friends will eat and not eat. The squirrels used to eat everything in sight!
DeleteI love your birds!
ReplyDeleteAnd they love you Jeanie :) thank you so much!
DeleteThe cuisine in the other feeders must be four star!
ReplyDeleteOr five Sandra :) Mine is definitely a zero at the moment, lol!
Deletefun
ReplyDeleteAlways happy you think so Christine, thank you :)
DeleteCool!
ReplyDeleteThank you Anne, much appreciated :)
DeleteYou are a gem.

So sweet of you Regine, but you are the gem my dear friend :)
DeleteTodos preparados, para comenzar el día y para conseguir fuerzas , lo mejor es un buen alimento.
ReplyDeleteSaludos.
Dices palabras muy ciertas :) Muchas gracias y espero que tengas un excelente día.

ReplyDeleteThe brownies mhm yummy!!!
Have a good weekend!
hugs Elke
Greetings Elke, thank you so much for your kind words :) You have a good weekend also. Hugs, Denise xo
DeleteOH, fussy, fussy birdies!!! And Mrs. finch sure gave me a big laugh! How about trying a different mix? But of course you need to get one that does not have too much squirrel treats, or they will eat it all. Brownies, YUM! I bite my nails really badly! Have all my life. About five years ago I stopped for awhile and was so delighted. Bought lots of different colors of nail polish. Sadly, it didn't last. I'm back to biting them. Do you have any tips? (a pun for sure as in real tips and finger tips!)
ReplyDeleteFussy is a good way to describe them :) I'm glad she gave you a good laugh. I'm thinking of trying a different mix and maybe not such a big bag. I keep thinking I am saving money doing so but not when they won't even eat the stuff! I'm sorry you are back to nail biting, that must be frustrating. I have had a few friends who are in the same boat, so to speak. Love your pun ;) This is a mystery to me why my nails are growing all of a sudden and I have no tips. The strangest thing is that yesterday I broke two nails on my left hand (boy did Gregg hear that one from afar, lol). The nails on my right hand are getting longer and as I am right-handed, that's the one I use the most. Go figure!
DeleteI do wonder if the birds will start flocking to your bird feeder when the weather cools down a little? Just a thought!
ReplyDeleteYou shared some lovely photographs again ...thank you.
All the best Jan
You are very welcome Jan, and thank you :) I wouldn’t be surprised on that. This has crossed my mind also. All the best, Denise xo
DeleteWe’re having lots of migrants visiting our feeders! Your birds & squirrels are hilarious! 😻 Kit & The Kitties
ReplyDeleteHello Ms. K, I am happy you think so. Thank you for the kind words :) I would be very happy to welcome your migrants.
DeleteHello there, I tried to leave a message on your blog but unfortunately I kept getting a failed to publish noticed. I just wanted to let you know I tried :)
DeleteLinda ardilla, ten un buen fin de semana
ReplyDelete
DeleteGracias, me alegra que te guste la ardilla. ¡A mí también! :) Te mando un beso.
Great Denise :-D
ReplyDeleteThank you Ananka, much appreciated :)
DeleteDear Denise :)
ReplyDeleteSaturday Morning At The Bird Feeder always makes me smile. but it's a mystery why
there are so few birds taking advantage of the food yu offer. I can't seem to come up with a sensible reason why this has happened and like yourself am baffled Just recently I discovered where I can purchase dried Meal worms and the birds love them Have you tried to feed them this tasty meal Denise?
Hello dear Sonjia :) thank you for all the helpful advice. I will try the mealworms.
DeleteI haven’t seen many birds at my feeder either.
ReplyDeleteThat’s interesting Linda, I wonder what is going on with these birds? :)
DeleteWe were on a long day trip yesterday to attend a memorial for a friend...5 hours total in the car...numbed our tushies
ReplyDeleteJust catching up on the tweets at the bird feeder
Hugs cecilia
I am so sorry about your friend Cecilia. 5 hours is a long car ride. Thanks for stopping by. You must be very tired not only because of emotions but journey too. Hugs, Denise xo
DeleteYou are very funny. Nails.Tooooo funny.
ReplyDeleteI try my best Ivy ;) Thank you! I have had typos even writing this to you, blessed nails!
Deletelolololol. I've done that in my cartoons as well. I get it.
DeleteHappy you do Ivy, it makes it all the more interesting, lol!
DeleteYou captured that squirrel in such funny positions. Looks like the little rascal is just hanging out at the bird feeder, along with the other critters. I just saw seven doves on my lawn this week. Here, in the mountains of northern California, we get the Eurasian Collared Doves (looks very much like the Mourning Dove, only with a ring around its neck). They are such peaceful birds, and a favorite of mine.
ReplyDelete~Sheri
That sounds wonderful Sheri :) I remember the Collared Doves from our road trips out west. They both make such a peaceful sound, very relaxing. A favorite of mine too.
