A couple of weeks ago we took another trip to the garden center to pick up Mums.
The first two things I noticed was the big planter. It would have been waist high next to me. Needless to say, it didn't make it home with us, nor did the outdoor fireplaces but it was fun to browse.
They had pumpkins too.

And then there were the flowers and an odd, dried leaf or two had fallen in among the petals.

I forgot to take a close up of the top planter but the mums I shared before and there is a photo of them above. I wasn't sure about the double color combination at first, but I like them now. Below is a close up of the bottom shelf.
The Kissing Bunnies said they approved...
but they really weren't paying attention. The grassy plant and its companion below have been with us for well over a year, and I am happy they have survived this long. The succulents came home with us a few months ago. There was a third but it didn't make it. It was different from these two, and they seem okay. That says, "Denise can grow these." (which is a bit of a surprise and my toxic thumb is very happy). I will definitely be getting the same kind. The small planter has multiple openings for small plants, five in total. I will add three more of the same when the time is right.
That's about all from the trip to the garden center. Always a fun browse. Thanks for visiting and have a great day!
Thank you for this lovely post of fall beauty. I do miss seeing fall since I live in Hawaii now.
ReplyDeleteYou are very welcome Kay, so glad you enjoyed :)I would miss fall too if I moved away.
DeleteWow they are so pretty. I have never heard of Mums before, but they look familiar.
ReplyDeleteMums is short for Chrysanthemums Diane, perhaps that is used more where you are :)
DeleteHi Denise, looks like a wonderful place to browse and enjoy. Absolutely gorgeous colours in your photos, dear friend 🧡
ReplyDeleteMy thanks to you dear friend. So glad you enjoyed :)
DeleteLove those bunnies. The Chrysanthemums are beautiful, so many blooms on them they put on a good show and that makes you want to purchase them.
ReplyDeleteThank you Margaret, I agree with you. They are always such a lovely splash of color at this time of the year :) and my bunnies always make me smile.
DeleteI love mums! Especially because they came in all kinds of colors and I really like color!
ReplyDeleteThey are lovely aren’t they Nicole? I always like the colors too :)
DeleteYou've done a wonderful job with the bench and the kissing bunnies. The color combination is just as good; everything fits together so beautifully. The succulent pot is great; I have some too. We'll see how they survive the winter!
ReplyDeleteHave a happy day! hugs Elke
Thank you so much Elke :) I hope our succulents, yours and mine, survive the winter. Have a happy day also.
DeleteIt’s been a few years since we bought mums. Maybe I’ll pick some up today.
ReplyDeleteThe day is almost over David, did you pick up a pot of mums? :)
DeleteThat planter with multiple openings would be fantastic for herbs :-))
ReplyDeleteThank you Angie, that is a great.
DeleteThe mums are so pretty. I've been wanting to get some but never got around to it. I suppose there might still be some time. LOVE that outdoor fireplace. I can picture sitting in front of a roaring fire with a nice cozy blanket and a cup of hot coffee.
ReplyDeleteI thought so too :) that does sound cozy. Our garden is a bit too small, it would be overwhelmed with that big old fireplace. Lovely idea though.
DeleteA trip to the garden centre is always worthwhile, even if you just browse, but I like what you bought - very colourful and cheering.
ReplyDeleteI agree, I always enjoy them :) Thank you Janice.
DeleteDenise,
ReplyDeleteYour plants and flowers all look beautiful. I like the bunnies and would love have a succulent plant like yours! Take care, enjoy your day and happy weekend.
Thank you Eileen :) glad you like my little corner. I wish you the same.
DeleteThanks for taking me along. The colors look great together! :)
ReplyDeleteHappy to share Rita :) and thank you.
DeleteWe purchased one outdoor pot yesterday — yellow. Other pots are still doing well, so that is all that we need, and even that was debated, we have two pots in the house.
ReplyDeleteSounds lovely AC :)
DeleteGreat photos Denise. I like going to the Garden Centre and taking photos :-D
ReplyDeleteThank you Ananka :) they are such nice places to walk around.
DeleteSo much fall goodness. Happy Friday.
ReplyDeleteYes indeed and to you also my dear friend :)
DeleteMums are so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThey certainly are :)
DeleteI love this post! The garden center has such lovely things. The fireplace is so pretty. I have never seen one like it. And I love that large wire pumpkin holder. Your mums are beautiful! Mine always die, so I have given up on them. I love your beautiful teal colored multi-planter. It would even look gorgeous by itself with no plants in it! The yellow flowers with the dead leaf is such a pretty and artistic shot!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ginny :) it is one of my favorite places to visit. I felt lucky to find the planter you mentioned. I like it without plants also. It’s funny how we zone in on things when outside. This day it was the fallen leaf among the yellow flowers.
DeleteBeautiful flowers. Have a nice weekend.
ReplyDeleteThank you Anne, you also :)
DeleteMums add some nice color this time of year and they have brightened up your space!
ReplyDeleteI agree, I love Mums :) Thanks Ellen!
DeleteToxic thumb. Denise, you're funnnnny!
ReplyDeleteHappy you think so Ivy, I try my best to:)
Delete🧡
DeleteThanks Ivy :)
DeleteGarden centers have much more than plants today to make things interesting
ReplyDeleteThey certainly do :)
DeleteYour flowers are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you Linda, I have seen lovely ones this year :)
DeleteLooks fun!
ReplyDeleteIt was, and always is at this place :)
DeleteTis the season for so many pretty colors ...I too love that giant pot.
ReplyDeleteHugs cecilia
It was one of the prettier ones I have seen there. Hugs, Denise :) xo
DeleteLove the flowers. It's odd to see a dead leaf for me because they don't fall here!
ReplyDeleteI have never thought of that before. Everywhere we go, the leaves fall here :)
Saludos :)
Deletelove those kissing bunnies no matter where they are.. beautiful choices, and love the pots too.
ReplyDeleteSo glad Sandra and thank you, much appreciated :)
DeleteI stopped at Home Depot today after my haircut and purchased two pots of mums and two pumpkins. The mums will be deep pink when they open which I hope will be this month. Lovely arrangement of flowers there on your deck. Weather still nice I imagine to spend time out there.
ReplyDeleteWonderful! I know you will enjoy them :) October is generally a lovely month here. Chillier at night but today the high is 76 deg. F.
DeleteHermosas calabazas, me gustan las flores. Te mando un beso.
ReplyDelete¡Gracias! Me alegra que te guste :) Te mando un beso.
DeleteSo many wonderful flowers and colours ... the kissing bunnies are so sweet.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Thank you Jan, so glad and I am happy you like the kissing bunnies. I am rather fond of them :) All the best, Denise xo
DeleteI think I love going to the garden center in spring even more than in the fall!
ReplyDeleteIt is a fun place to visit. I will look forward to going there again in the spring. New flowers to plant in the garden :)
