Yesterday we were at the garden and met Mr. Joe. His very nice human told us he was totally blind but that he liked to get out and have a walk around.
Joe seemed a happy little dog, well-loved and taken care of.
They live close by and this was their daily walk. I told Gregg later if we lived near here, I would be at the garden every day too.
It was very nice meeting Joe and his human. Mr. Human said he's called Mr. Joe but you can just call him Joe.
So nice to meet you Joe, and Joe's human.
"You can usually tell that a man is good
if he has a dog who loves him."
Thanks for stopping by
and I hope your day is a great one.
Oh bless him, at least the dog can smell and how nice to stop and have a good old chat.
ReplyDeleteBless him indeed. Yes, he can see the world through his nose :)
DeleteSuch a cutie!
ReplyDeleteVery much so :)
DeleteHe looks like a long-haired Dachshund. Did you find out how he got blind? I have heard the saying that you can tell how good a person is by how they treat animals. I kind of agree.
ReplyDeleteI thought so Ginny. No, I don't know how he got blind but his eyes definitely looked it. I've heard that saying before: "We can judge the heart of a man by his treatment of animals.” - Immanuel Kant
DeleteWhat a wonderful meeting.
ReplyDeleteThank you Sue, it was :)
DeleteMr Joe is a fortunate dog to have a loving owner. Dogs can enjoy so much through their noses, much more than humans can.
ReplyDeleteLovely place to walk, too, for those who can see.
I'm glad he is being given a good life and very true what you say :)
DeleteAw, Mr Joe looks sweet.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ann, he certainly was :)
DeleteJoe is fortunate to have found a caring human companion. I hope they will have many more years together.
ReplyDeleteThat he is David :) and me too.
DeleteHello Denise :=)
ReplyDeleteMr Joe is definitely a long haired Dachshund, having had one as a family pet for many years, I recognised it as a Long haired Dachshund immediately and feel so sorry Mr Joe is blind. It's owner seems like a caring person and knows the benefit of walking his lovely dog so it gets exercise and can enjoy the smells along the way. The garden is beautiful, and having a chat with a dog lover is one of the joys my late hubby and I have experienced often as we walked our dogs and even formed friendships with the owners of their dog. Bless you for stopping and having a word with the nice man, as reaching out to strangers is often rewarding, as you discovered with the sales person who knocked at your door. I enjoyed reading about it, and also enjoyed this encounter.
All the best
Sonjia.
Thank you for your lovely comment Sonjia. It is always a great pleasure talking to dog lovers. Even though we have none ourselves now, I grew up with animals around me, and always dogs right up until 15 years ago when we lost our own beloved pup. I like your description of reaching out to strangers, it is often as you say, very rewarding. All the best to you too my friend :)
DeleteThe dog is super cute!
ReplyDeleteHe was, I agree :)
DeleteMr Joe is a happy dog, to be out walking with his human. What a cutie!
ReplyDeleteTake care, have a great day!
Thank you Eileen, he certainly was. You take care and have a great day also :)
DeletePoor Joe. But as you said, he appears happy, so is it poor Joe after all?
ReplyDeleteThanks Jim and Barb, on first thought, yes Poor Joe, but his other senses have probably been heightened and he sees the world through them. Unless we stepped into his feet, I suppose we will never know how he truly feels. I am so glad he has a kind human who takes care of him.
DeleteI am glad you showed a long shot of Mr Joe, I can see how tiny he is, in the closeup it is hard to tell size. its good for Joe and his Dad to walk daily... I would like walking there myself
ReplyDeleteThanks Sandra, it is a great place to walk :)
DeleteAww, sweet doggy!
ReplyDeleteVery sweet :)
DeleteA nice meeting
ReplyDeleteVery much so :)
DeleteIt was very nice to read about your meet-up with Joe and his human, Denise. And, if I lived near that park, I would also be walking there daily!
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed it Dorothy. It was a very pleasant encounter :)
DeleteSince I walk a lot, I meet many dogs. You are best to talk to them like Mr Joe. I see many o the same dogs and they get to know me.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds lovely! We have had other opportunities on our walks. Always nice to meet them :)
DeleteHe certain is :)
ReplyDeleteSo sweet -- and it is good that dogs have such a good sense of smell, Mr Joe can still enjoy everything he encounters.
ReplyDeleteVery true, on all counts :) Thank you Sallie!
DeleteAww, so sweet, Denise. Mr. Joe is adorable and has a lovely human that clearly loves him. That's all we need.
ReplyDeleteVery Martha Allen, he was such a little joy! So true, that’s all we need.
DeleteMr. Joe - you are precious!!
ReplyDeleteI agree Jennifer :)
DeleteHello Mr. Joe. That is a nice place to walk for sure!
ReplyDeleteA very nice walk, thank you Ellen :)
DeleteI love stopping and talking to dog walkers! But I was sorry the other day that Leo the collie-husky and his very cute owner, Daniel, are moving. No more bumping into them!
ReplyDeleteGoodbyes are hard Jeanie. I am sorry you are saying them to Leo and Daniel :*)
DeleteVery nice post Denise! How beautiful that the owner loves, respects and cares for his beautiful dog. He will surely be a wonderful person.. Fantastic and the garden🌷🌹🌼🪻❤️.
