Whether we agree with all or not, they are definitely food for thought. If you have an opinion about any of these, feel free to share.
With thanks to Carole from My Carolina Home, I can now tell you the author of these Life's Lessons is Regina Brett of the Plain Dealer in Cleveland Ohio. Thanks so much Carole!

13. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn't be in it...
14 Take a deep breath. It calms the mind.

27. Time heals almost everything. Give time time.
28. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
29. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does..
30. Believe in miracles.
31. Don't audit life. Show up and make the most of it now.
32. Growing old beats the alternative -- dying young.
33. Your children get only one childhood.
34. All that truly matters in the end is that you loved.
35. Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting everywhere.
36. If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else's, we'd grab ours back.

39. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
40. Yield.
41. Life isn't tied with a bow, but it's still a gift.
I agree with every single one. EXCEPT number 15. I am a collector and like to keep things.
ReplyDeleteYes, I would have a hard time with that one, also being a collector. Thanks Ginny :)
DeleteThese are awesome, Denise. I will have to share this with friends. I love every one of them.
ReplyDeleteThank you Kay :) that’s great!
DeleteGreat advice in all of those. I could leave No. 9, as I'm not a great lover of chocolate.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful AI Denise, well done! 👏
Thanks Margaret :) Unfortunately I would not be able to leave off No. 9 ;)
DeleteShe is right on the money with a lot of these isn't she?
ReplyDeleteYes she is :) and thank you Sue.
DeleteYep, I agree with these. The only one I might argue with is #4. While I know that my job won't take care of me when I'm sick, I'm not so sure there are friends or family who will either.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ann :) and I certainly hope they would.
DeleteThank you for sharing these wisdoms!
ReplyDeleteYou are very welcome and thank you roentare :)
DeleteGreat advice, I agree with most of these! Take care, happy Sunday! Have a great week ahead.
ReplyDeleteThank you Eileen and the same to you :)
DeleteUplifting quotes and I love the illustrations.
ReplyDeleteMuch appreciated, thank you so much :)
Deletethere are too many I disagree with to go into them but the one that jumps out is the crazy statement that The Best Is Still to come. I find that the older I get the worst life gets. love the pictures. the one I agree with the most is the save while you are working, prepare for the future, and pay off the credit card each month or don't use it
ReplyDeleteThanks Sandra :) I understand what you are saying. I had some questions about these myself and was curious what others might think.
DeleteGreat quotes. There are certainly some that we do not agree with, but they are prompts for a better life and a better future.
ReplyDeleteThank you Katerina :) indeed.
DeleteThank you Linda, happy you think so :)
ReplyDeleteA quick internet search found her - Regina Brett, of the Plain Dealer, Cleveland , Ohio. - https://www.reginabrett.com/life-lessons
ReplyDeleteThank you Carole, I will add her name as soon as I can :)
DeleteThanks for those great words of wisdom. I agree with most of them, chocolate I can live without.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely Sunday and all the best for the coming week.
You are very welcome. I could live without chocolate and do most of the time, but still love it :) You have a lovely Sunday and a great week also :)
DeleteThe best was "getting old is better than dying young."
ReplyDeleteThat puts it in perspective doesn't it Gigi? :)
DeleteI love the soft pastels in the artwork. Don't know her name. Love the smile on her face.
ReplyDeleteSo glad, thanks Ivy :) Another blogging friend let me know who the author is and I will be adding her name soon.
Delete❤️
DeleteThere are many common sense ideas in this list. Great things to live by.
ReplyDeleteThanks Red, happy you think so :) thank you!
DeleteI like many of these quotes, Denise. It's always nice to listen to old people talk, they have interesting stories to tell. ; )
ReplyDelete~Sheri
I feel the same way Sheri. It was part of my childhood. My parents knew a lot of much older friends who would come and visit. I loved listening to them about their adventures. One dear lady I remember telling us about an adventure she had visiting her brother in the Australian Outback. It seemed so exciting to this 9 year old :) Apologies for being late answering. I have been getting a lot of blogging friends in my spam folder lately and yours popped up recently. Glad I keep checking so that I could answer your comment.
DeleteThank you for always sharing the humble celebration with us 🏵️ Aloha
ReplyDeleteYou are so very welcome my friend, thank you :)
DeleteIt is so difficult to take good advice, though!
ReplyDeleteVery true Jenn :)
DeleteVery wise I like number 12 a lot.
ReplyDeleteYes, that’s a great one :)
DeleteI like so many of these, Denise, that picking a favorite is difficult, but here's one: Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie. Don't save it for a special occasion. Today is special...as is EVERY day!
ReplyDeleteVery, but you picked another good one Dorothy :)
DeleteThese are all excellent.. I agree with most of them.
ReplyDeleteHappy you think so Hena, thank you :)
DeleteI wish the younger generation would take #8 to heart. Even a little, saved faithfully, can add up.
ReplyDeleteThat would be a great one to learn when we are young :)
DeleteI love the way you sign off. It sure is a good poster with great advice. It is hard to enjoy life when you are ill but I like the one about putting everyone's problems in a pile and you would grab yours back.
ReplyDeleteThank you Diane :) I agree with what you said. I am glad you enjoy my sign offs. I enjoy making them.
DeleteSome great words of wisdom here. The AI pictures are delightful.
ReplyDeleteHello Beverley, thank you :) So happy you enjoyed both the poem and the AI pictures.
