    1. I have heard it can be very invasive. I read that this particular 'bamboo' isn't a bamboo at all. Not sure where I read that as there were so many online websites I browsed through :)

  7. Planting regular bamboo trees is a real mistake. they spread like crazy, are hard to root out. This plant is lovely.

  8. These heavenly bamboo plants are so lovely with all of the berries. Unfortunately they are quite invasive and are on the list not to plant in Virginia. My dear departed neighbor gifted me some many years ago. They spread underground and became a big problem for us. We worked for years to rid them. It's unfortunate that such a lovely plant is so invasive.

    1. Thank you Martha Ellen, I am very glad you gave me this information. Some plants can be a complete horror to remove, and it seems that this plant is one of them. I appreciate you sharing your experience with them. I agree, very unfortunate that it is one of those horrors to get rid of.
