SATURDAY MORNING AT THE BIRD FEEDER - THE CARDINAL DEALING WITH A SHORT ATTENTION SPAN.

You will often find me peering outside with camera at the ready.  I am waiting for the birds and have to be fast as they don't stay around for long.  On this occasion I had the company of a female Cardinal.  She was trying to tell me something and I replied...

I'm not the only one with a short attention span, am I?Hmmm.....

The idea for this post came to me one day when I was trying to multi-task.  I'm not a good multi-tasker, as I have been known to get distracted easily when there is wildlife around.

A quote that tickled my funny bone, as I always enjoyed Daffy Duck and on occasion can relate.

"A fellow with the inventiveness of Albert Einstein but with the attention span of Daffy Duck."

~Tom Shales~

  5. So funny, Denise! Daffy Duck's voice will now be an earworm in my head today. Multitasking is overrated in my opinion. Happy weekend!

    1. You know Martha Ellen, my Dad and I used to watch Saturday morning cartoons when I was a little girl, and I remember him chortling away. He was a great multitasker but unfortunately, I didn't get that gene, lol! Happy weekend to you too :)

  6. I I loved Daffy duck and his cousin is adorable. I thought this story of mind games was about ME... this is MY LIFE now, my thoughts leaping from one thing to another and my multitask has now become trying to stay on a single task until it is done

    1. Happy you enjoyed his cousin Sandra :) Ah yes, you describe me to a 'T'. I try to stay on task but then a bird lands on the rail and well, you know what happens next ;)

  8. Always enjoy these bird feeder exchanges, Denise, and I too can be easily distracted at times, especially when the task is not enjoyable.

  13. Oh, such pretty photos of the cardinal, Denise. You know, it is my dream to one day see the red cardinal. The male is spectacular! We don't see them here in California, at least around my neck of the woods. I enjoy your fun talking bird posts, as I also love the birds.

    1. Hello Sheri, happy you enjoyed and I really hope you get to see a Cardinal one day. They are a beautiful bird. You know, there are many feathered friends I would love to see in your neck of the woods. One of these days I hope to go traveling again, so that I can do a birding journey :)

    2. Yes, there are a few delightful birds up here in the mountains. I just saw the funny Quail cross the street - a trail of them. They usually come in groups. I also see the Robin often on my front yard and the Mourning Doves. In the trees, I see the Woodpecker and the Stellar's Jay, and sometimes at the creek I see the grand Eagle. : )
