There isn't much sunshine in these photos. We have had a few dreary days and it started snowing at 3.00 a.m. yesterday. The birds didn't seem to mind the rain and they were out in the snow. It stopped snowing in the afternoon and there were blue skies. If my photos come out okay I will share a few.
Female House Finch with a Dove further down the rail.
Male and Female Housefinch
Here is the female Northern Cardinal.
These are the things that take my interest. The back of the Tufted Titmouse's head (on the right). A Dark-eyed Junco is further up on the rail.
Male Cardinal and American Goldfinch.
And I am finishing off with the pair of friendly birds from my first photo, without the speech bubbles - the male Downy Woodpecker and the Mourning Dove.
That's all for today. Thanks for looking and I hope you are all having a good start to the New Year.
They all seem to be getting along well together. I think the back of the Titmouse head is really interesting!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ginny, the way its head feathers shape into one large peak and one smaller peak is fascinating.
DeleteLovely captures - and they don't seem to be bothered at all by the weather.
ReplyDeleteI agree Sue, what good role models they are :)
DeleteBelos momentos fotográficos.
ReplyDeleteAproveito para desejar um Excelente Ano de 2022.

Obrigado e também gostaria de aproveitar esta oportunidade para desejar um excelente ano de 2022.
DeleteYou sure get a nice selection of birds visiting your feeder.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ann, they seem to be the same selection each day, with a different pop in occasionally. I enjoy them very much :)
DeleteAwesome!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Anne :)
DeleteI really like all your cam photos, they are spectacular to me. its like we are there watching them and they don't know it. I feel like I am at their dining table. keep sharing them. I love them.
ReplyDeleteOh that's great, thank you Sandra :)
DeleteSometimes photos look even better on drearie days for some reason.
ReplyDeleteYou know, there's a lot of fact in that statement. Thanks for reminding me Christine :)
DeleteSuch a fun way to start the new year, Denise, with the bird-cam pics once again. best wishes to you and Gregg for a good 2022 as well.
ReplyDeleteHi Dorothy, I feel the same way. Thanks so much and I wish you and Pat the same :)
DeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteYou have a lovely variety of backyard birds. I do miss feeding the birds, you have some great closeup photos from your wildlife cam. Take care, enjoy your day!
I know what you mean Eileen. When I don't feed the birds in the summer I really miss them. Thank you and you take care and enjoy the day also :)
DeleteI do enjoy your bird cam pictures, they are great :)
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Hello Jan, thank you, so glad you enjoy them. All the best to you too :)
DeleteYou must have a camera set up right by the seed. Fantastic photos - happy 2022!
ReplyDeleteWe do Carol, they get a bit too close at times and it's comical how some seem to hear a barely audible click from the shutter, and maybe they see the lights also. Thank you and you have a happy 2022 also :)
DeleteThe photos are awfully good and you are getting quite the selection of birds!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jeanie, they always seem to be the same selection and it gets very exciting around here when we get an odd drop in, lol! :)
DeleteHi Linda, no full-on fights but saw a couple of maybes when the seeds were getting low :)
ReplyDeleteIt's always interesting to see the different birds so close up on your bird cam as they enjoy a good feed.
ReplyDeleteHappy you are enjoying them Linda :)
DeleteBeautiful visitors and friendly too. Lovely captures. Enjoy your day.
ReplyDeleteThank you babYpose :) Enjoy your day also :)
DeleteYou take good care of them.
ReplyDeleteI try Red :)
DeleteYour birds pose very well for you. Awesome photos.
ReplyDeleteThanks Red! A lot of the time they pose well, others not so much but that's birds for you :) and they do teach me patience.
DeleteSo much fun! Feed them and they will come!
ReplyDeletePerfectly put, thanks Ellen :)
DeleteThese are really fun!
ReplyDeleteHappy you think so Jenn, thank you :)
DeleteOh, that red cardinal is such a beauty. You know, it is a dream of mine to see the red cardinal in person. We don't see them here in California, or at least where I've lived. ; ) Nice of you to feed the birds. I would like to do that also, but I don't want the squirrels coming around and taking their food. I do not like the squirrels haha.
ReplyDelete~Sheri
I hope you get to see a Cardinal one day Sheri :) Yes I know, if you feed the birds you have to feed the squirrels. Nuf said, haha! Totally understand!
