Here we are again. Our previous visit before this one, was at the end of August. This time Autumn is very much under way.For some reason that escapes me now, we didn't leave the house until mid afternoon. Usually we are out in the morning but by the time we got to the garden, the sun was lower in the sky and not as harsh. Better for taking photos we keep hearing. This is the visitor center. In the wintertime there are logs burning and their warmth makes you want to grab one of those chairs. The way into the garden is through the visitor center, after paying an admission charge. Under the age of 6 you get in for free. Between the ages of 6 to 17 it is $3.00. Between 18 to 54 it is $6.00. 55 and over it goes back down to $3.00. Because we visit often during the year we buy the single annual pass for $35.00 which comes with a free guest pass. The family pass is $50.00. During the middle of winter it used to be free. Whether it still is I'm not sure but will find out next time I go, because it will probably be wintertime. These fees were on their website at the time of writing, on November 1st, 2021. The Fairy Garden is right outside the visitor center. Most of the fairies have flown south with the birds, but there were a few who had stayed behind.
You can just about see them if you look inside these towers. There was flying practice going on!
The fire would be amazing in the winter, looks a largish fireplace.
ReplyDeleteThe gnomes are looking good too.
I know Margaret, I love that fireplace and the stained glass above the mantle :)
DeleteA lovely visit.
ReplyDeleteIt certainly was, thank you Christine :)
DeleteWhat a great place to visit. I love all the gnomes. I could get used to having a fireplace like that too.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ann, I love the gnomes too. They are new to the garden (to me as I haven't been here at this time), whether they will still be there after the Winter Walk of Lights is over, I am not sure.
DeleteGostei de ver estas belas fotografias.
ReplyDeleteUm abraço e bom fim-de-semana.

DeleteLove it!! The gnomes all seem friendly enough. But those fairy lights would shine and make the whole garden special!!!
ReplyDeleteSo glad Anni, those lights certainly do make it all special :) Thank you!
DeleteHello,

Have a happy day and a great weekend!
Thank you Eileen, we have always enjoyed the visitor center, and everything in the garden. You have a happy day and great weekend also :)
Deletethat is a great price for the annual pass. i love that free standing tower and the fireplace is magnificent.. never seen one in front of a window and I love it
ReplyDeleteWe think so too Sandra, and love everything that you have mentioned. Thank you :)
DeleteThese gardens are so lovely and I really like the coziness of the visitor's center. These seem like very reasonable rates, which makes it very nice.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jeanie, and yes we think the rates are very reasonable also. It's a good place for parents to bring their children. I often see moms with strollers here during the day time :)
DeleteIt must be nice to be able to visit a garden like this so frequently, using an annual pass. Good sights and good exercise!
ReplyDeleteThank you Gigi! We feel very grateful with our local gardens, and getting the exercise in such pretty surroundings.
DeleteHave a nice weekend.
ReplyDeleteThank you Anne, you too :)
DeleteI love it! Wish there were more Fairy Gardens around here.
ReplyDeleteThank you Ginny :) I don’t see too many fairy gardens either and am very appreciative of this one.
