Today is our 45th Wedding Anniversary, and I am resharing photos from our special day. Goodness, where did all the years go? They went by so quickly.
We were married in my village church in the coldest winter, so the papers said, in 200 years. There was one tiny electric fire to warm the congregation. I believe the church was built in the 1400s.
Wonderful wedding photos; I have really enjoyed looking at them. Your wedding gown is a bit like mine was, so is your cake. Our anniversary is next week. Ahh, to be young again, and so full of hope and plans for the future...
ReplyDeleteThank you Ginny! Happy Anniversary to you too :)

DeleteCongratulations and Best wishes on your 45th celebration, Denise & Gregg, and thanks for sharing these look back photos. While your celebration will be subdued this year, hope you get to properly do it up next year, but being together is the best part of any anniversary. 🥂
ReplyDeleteThank you Dorothy :) We had a wonderful day nonetheless :) Hopefully we will be able to take a trip next year. Couldn't agree more with the last part of your sentence :)
DeleteHow beautiful - Happy Anniversary Denise!
ReplyDeleteThank you Martha :)
DeleteHappy Anniversary, I am thinking in that beautiful dress you were freezing during the ceremony but you don't look like you were.
ReplyDeleteWell, I could have done with some of that long under garments I wore in the blizzard of 78 ;) Truly, I was so happy I don't remember feeling that cold, but there was it was very windy that day.
DeleteCongratulations!
ReplyDeleteThank you Anne :)
DeleteHappy anniversary. Yes, tie passes quickly. With the church being cold your ceremony was likely pretty brief.
ReplyDeleteThank you Red :) It wasn't that brief, Church of England ceremony and it was often called a high church, which meant a half hour ceremony. I do remember looking at Gregg's cloud of breath as he said his vows. Very damp too where I lived back then.
DeleteCongratulations!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou were an 'English Rose'... Lovely photos....
Greetings from the North Pole!

DeleteHappy 45th you two!! I remember you posting how cold it was and your husband wasn't used to it.
ReplyDeleteHi Yogi, and thank you :) I didn't think about it back then too much but as I reflect, the weather must have been quite a shock. We were all so used to it and 'conditioned'.
DeleteThank you Linda :)
