We have been eating a lot of leftovers since Thanksgiving, everything enjoyed but not one single recipe made to share today. Instead I found this poem.
“Recipe”
I didn't have potatoes,
So I substituted rice.
Didn't have Paprika,
So I used another spice.
I didn't have tomato sauce,
So I used tomato paste,
A whole can not a half can,
I don't believe in waste.
My friend gave me the recipe,
She said you couldn't beat it,
There must be something wrong with her,
I couldn't even eat it!
(Hmmm...... I have been on both sides of that table.)
Thanks for looking and have a great day!

What a cute poem!! You always find such good ones!
ReplyDeleteThank you Ginny, so glad you enjoy them :)
DeleteThe poem made me smile. And hooray for leftovers.
ReplyDeleteThat's great, thank you Sue and definitely hooray for leftovers :)
DeleteYep, HER (or his) recipe I've followed all too many times!!
ReplyDeleteCute.
Thanks Anni, yes, me too :)
DeleteCute poem Denise. I love the Thanksgiving leftovers.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day, have a great new week!
Thank you Eileen, so glad and me too :) I wish you the same!
DeleteLove the poem. I've done my own substitutions before with varied results.
ReplyDeleteThank you Ann, happy you did. I've tried a few substitutions too, some worked out, some did not :)
DeleteWe have not been enjoying any leftovers, Denise, as we were not home for Thanksgiving and also there was no turkey dinner. It is nice to have leftovers with no cooking needed for a few days!
ReplyDeleteHi Dorothy, nice to go places on Thanksgiving when you don't have to cook :) We had a smaller traditional meal this year and it turned out great.
Deleteme too and just this past week, i found an EASY recipe for drop biscuits with only 4 ingredients, the gluten free stuff... Bob asked me something as I was halfing the ingredients and I added to much MILK as in 1/2 cup to much and OH MY did they taste bad and like glue
ReplyDeleteAh yes Sandra, been there, done that :) All learning experiences, lol!
DeleteWhat a great poem! LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteGreat Jeanie, so glad :) Thank you!
DeleteThat vintage Thanksgiving photo is so cute. I've always liked the vintage cards - my sister introduced them to ma many years ago, and ever since then, I was hooked.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy this Christmas season, Denise.
~Sheri
Thanks Sheri, and I do enjoy old vintage cards. Happy to hear your sister introduced you to them :) You enjoy your Christmas season also Sheri :)
DeleteI did enjoy the poem :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy this new week.
All the best Jan
So glad Jan :) Thank you and I wish you the same.
DeleteLeftovers are a given.
ReplyDeleteYes indeed, thanks William :)
DeleteGreat poem!
ReplyDeleteThanks Christine :)
DeleteI relate to the poem. If you've ever been on Pinterest, I'm always amazed at the ways people change recipes and then give a bad review! I don't think Bob wants me to put turkey on the menu for quite awhile....
ReplyDeleteHi Barb, I go to Pinterest to find recipes sometimes. I have to say, even though we enjoyed our turkey, we are happy to have it once a year on Thanksgiving. Gregg would probably have the same mind as Bob :)
DeleteI came back after a visit to your blog. As your comments were closed I just wanted to say what a wonderful opportunity for Ben to see Norway. It’s sweet to hear how his love for photography came about. He will take some amazing ones where he is right now, and he is very wise not to share locations. All his photos are magnificent, but I so enjoyed the one of the moose, the eagle and the fox and I thank you both for sharing your photos with us out here. I know you bring a lot of smiles.
DeleteSuch a sweet poem, Denise. Sometimes substitutions work and somtimes not--believe me, I know.
ReplyDeleteHappy you enjoyed it Martha Ellen :) I believe you on those substitutions. Found that out many times over the years ;)
DeleteGood poem. We eat left overs after a celebration as we don't care to waste food.
ReplyDeleteThanks Margaret! I don't like to waste food either :)
DeleteThat would have been fun Linda :)
ReplyDeleteMe, too. Funny but true tale...my friend was telling me what she was making. She called it Italian beef. I asked how she made it and it did not sound good to me, but I told her the next time she made it to save me a taste of it. She did, and it is now one of our favorite meals.
ReplyDeleteThat's a wonderful tale, I really enjoyed that. Thanks Rose :)
DeleteWhat a fun poem š¤©
ReplyDeleteThank you RO, so happy you enjoyed :)
