I thought at first this pretty bird was an Ancona duck, or it could it be a Magpie duck? I'm confused! Maybe there is an expert out there on ducks. According to this website, if it is an Ancona it was developed in Great Britain during the early 20th century. It is similar to a Magpie duck and considered to be a descendant of the Indian Runner Duck and the Belgian Huttegem duck breed. If you know maybe you can pass on your knowledge. Always eternally grateful to learn from an expert.
This is a new one to me, I have never seen or heard of it. He is pretty. And does like kind of like an actual Magpie.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ginny, I am still scratching my head on this one :)
DeleteThank you. Whatever name he/she travels under the beauty is unchanged.
ReplyDeleteYou are very welcome and I totally agree. Thank you EC :)
DeleteI was wondering if this was taken recently because if so he probably is in his eclipse plumage and therefore does not look like his normal self Denise
ReplyDeleteThat is a very interesting piece of information Margaret, thank you :) I did take this photo in the summer a few years ago while traveling.
DeleteHere's my answer! It is a black and white duck! And absolutely beautiful and I might even say stunning black duck with white spots or white duck with black spots. I actually laughed when I saw the quote because I'm sitting in my chair and I had just finished putting Lubriderm on my scaly skin and other words I was oiling my feathers
ReplyDeleteYou always make me smile Sandra, thank you :)
DeleteGood looking duck.
ReplyDeleteThat saying on the photo - so true.
It surely is on both counts, thank you Margaret :)
DeleteThank you Agnieszka :)
ReplyDeleteDon't know what kind of duck that is.
ReplyDeleteI still don't know either. I've never seen one quite like that before :)
DeleteI like your quote but I've never heard of this duck. It must be a domestic.
ReplyDeleteInteresting, thanks Red :)
