RANDOM PHOTO

I was missing the back yard wildlife after running out of sunflower seeds.  I like to feed the squirrels as well as the birds.  They are a welcome sight and their antics never fail to entertain. 

I usually stop feeding them as the weather gets warmer, when there is plenty of natural food around.  I have a feeling I will be continuing for a while longer as I love to watch them.  When I saw our little friend here chowing down, she didn't seem to be missing those sunflower seeds.  Those of the Red Maple in my neighbor's yard seemed to put the same expression of euphoria on her face.  You will see more of her in another post.

    I love it! What a sweet picture! We have many squirrels around, and I really like watching them. Unfortunately, they run across the road in a zigzag pattern, and many are run over. I look forward to seeing many more squirrel photos here!

      Hi Ginny, I'm sad to say I have seen that here. But fortunately not for a long while now, and at least not this year thankfully.

    I did wonder if I should stop feeding birds and squirrel. I keep saying to myself just this once' !!

      It's hard I know Valerie :) We get a lot of raccoons around in the area during the warmer months, and I love them too but daren't risk feeding them as there are so many dogs and cats around here. I don't want to encourage any conflict.

    we both love our squirrels. bob hated them for a while because they were eating the avocado tree, but due to drought no avocados for 3 years now. so he is back to loving them... yesterday one came and sat on the edge of the rain barrel and was staring at me through the screen. the window was open. no photo. phooey

      Hi Sandra, I wouldn't be too happy if they were eating all my avocados either :)
      I used to get them climbing all over our screen as if to say where's our food!

    sometimes i think i am feeding the entire neighborhood!! i know it was cheaper to feed 2 kids!!! this is an awesome picture!! happy easter denise, stay safe and stay happy!!!
