GOSIA'S FENCES AROUND THE WORLD

I wanted to start off by thanking you for visiting me and leaving these lovely comments.  I also want to thank all who have become followers of my blog. I see on my side bar that I have a few new also.  Welcome and I wish each and every one of you to stay safe in this very surreal time we are all going through, in every part of the world.

My fences this week are from a Sunday ride in the Virginia countryside a few years ago.  We came across this old shell of a home that was off the beaten path.  
 What stories those walls could tell.
The brickwork was grand and I imagined living in this home when it was first built.  Even in its present state I thought it beautiful.  I was also happy for the fences so I could join in Gosia's meme this week.

    It's interesting to see where the old ruin of a house is located (nestled into the bank) and the fence has been put up along the contours of the slope. The stonework is amazing with all those different coloured pieces put together like a jigsaw puzzle. It must have taken quite a while to build.       Thank you. I loved its location also, still a very quiet dirt road. I tried to imagine what this place must have looked like when it was first built. The craftsmanship of its builder and putting those bricks together, he was an artist.

    we have a few stone houses like this here in our town, still be lived in. this one looks like it could be brought back. I love it... of course way back when I am assuming the road was not that close. beautiful old building and photos. agree with Linda it is romantic looking

      They sound lovely! We have homes made out of brick also and I think they are all pretty, but have to say I have never seen anything that struck me as pretty as this. Thanks Sandra :)

      Me too, I wondered how old it was. Where did they get that stone? The old stone houses I see are usually just one color.

    I can never see the remains of old buildings like that without wondering what stories could be told about them. Great photos of the terrific brickwork.
